First like a brother and little Sis who has a Child like crush.
And from that little sweet love restrained because age.
Developed a beautifull amazing story, with love that runs the bucket over.
So many sweet moments, uncertainties , dought , love that bloomed like a lotus flower in the mudd and grows .🪷 when the lotus seeing the sun and greetz is with a smile.
I cried watching this drama, and i never do .🥺 after all it's just drama.
But this love story, went under my skin , and touched my soul.

Beautiful Drama

I have watched this very emotionally moving series a few times because it was such a treat to watch... an uplifting, inspiring, intriguing, love story. For me the great writing gave the amazingly talented actors a solid structure to work with that included twists, turns, interesting subplots, and the slow progress of the romance for the main characters that eventually did make it.
The female and male leads were a good match and had that slow spark of chemistry that ignited and the supporting cast added a nice touch to the series.
For me it was a sweet love story with a nice balance to keep me entertained until the end.
Everyone who worked on this series did a phenomenal job.

The eye contact, quiet support, and small moments of affection often say more than dramatic declarations.

Hidden Love is more than just a romance drama — it is a comforting coming-of-age story about love, timing, emotional growth, and feeling understood by someone. It is the kind of drama that stays with you after finishing it.
For me, it deserves a full 5/5 stars because of its emotional sincerity, lovable characters, beautiful romance, and comforting atmosphere. It is one of my favorite dramas and one I would absolutely rewatch.

Perfection

Things I adored

1 The ML. I can't say it enough but he must be one of the rare actors who can play with my emotions that much. Whether he's sad or playful, serious or funny he gives me all the feelings with his eyes. He's gorgeous, that's a given, but there are other very handsome actors whom I don't care at all. He is like a walking green flag and I adore green flags when it comes to romance. I've seen him in Our secret as well, and loved him. What can I say? I ADORE him.

2 The premise. I'm a lover of high school dramas that spill in university. But this one was particularly great. They weren't together at school yet it felt like they grew up together.

3 Loved their relationship and how protective he was of her. So many swooning moments. But it wasn't only him. She protected him as well and that was great to watch.

4 The relationship between the FL and her brother. So fun, so sweet, so moving. Little demon became my favorite phrase.

5 The parents. Her mom was gorgeous and she played her role to perfection. I was so happy with the relationship the parents had with their children. It was great to watch them grow up in such a loving family.

6 The brother of the FL. At first I thought I'd dislike him. I didn't know what to expect. Then I've seen how he treated his sister and I adored him. The actors played their relationship so beautifully, so naturally. I loved his friendship with the ML as well. And of course how understanding and how protective he was with both o them after they got together. Such a great character and the actor did a stellar job to make me love him.

7 The young actress who played the young FL. Such a great actress and so fun to watch her. I was looking eagerly for the scenes she appeared. Such a talented person. I hope she has a great career.

8 Every single moment they showed each other how they felt. The milk, the hidden star messages, the airport scene... So many wonderful, lovely scenes. I think this is the only series out of maybe 50 I've seen that I'm sure I'll rewatch one day.

8 The whole drama. If I had to label it I could never give it less than 10 even with some imperfections.

Things I loved

1 The FL. Why isn't she with the rest of the cast in the "Adored" list. Well, I feel like I'm not being fair, but I have to distinguish those I adored and although I loved her I don't care to see her in other series, so that tells me that she lacked something. I went directly to look the other series the ML lead was in, but I didn't do the same for her. That said, I loved her, no doubt about that. She did a wonderful job to convey all the despair and the romantic feelings she had for him and I wanted to hug her so much when she suffered. I loved how genuine her feelings were and the actress conveyed these in a great manner.

2 The ML mother. She was a beautiful person and the actress made me feel for her. I loved how human she was about her feelings while trying to protect her son.

3 The friends of the ML and the brother. They were funny and adorable.

Things I liked

1 The university period. There were parts I loved but others not so much so that's why I putt this in the I liked things list. I could have done without the whole "having to care about his father" story.

Stress-relieving and Fulfilling c-Drama

One of the best dramas I have ever watched!
Zhou Lusi and Chen Zheyuan's superb chemistry, ZLS and Victor Ma's sibling bickering, Perfect Cast, and OSTs, all 10 out of 10.

We all were Sang Zhi(s) once in our lifetime, weren't we?
I always love to watch and feel that Sang Zhi's love for Duan Jia Xi is unconditional and admiring.
How fulfilling and happy can it be to get that kind of love back from your crush?
This is a genuinely healing and fulfilling (fulfilling) drama.

I love to re-watch it every time I feel stressed or emotionally tired. Just finished it again after celebrating the drama's 3rd anniversary.
The first 8-10 episodes can be a bit slow, but trust me, you gonna be hooked after a bit of patience.
Wish you get an oasis drama during these difficult times!

✅ Slow-Burn Romance Done Right: The pacing might be slow for some, but I loved how the drama took its time to show Sang Zhi growing up (honestly, appreciated this the most in the entire show), from an impulsive teen to a young woman who knows what she wants. Watching Duan Jiaxu slowly open his heart to her felt incredibly rewarding.

✅ Cinematography & OST: Visually, the drama is warm and cozy, using soft lighting and pastel tones that perfectly reflect its coming-of-age theme. The soundtrack (with the exception of one song lyric ~ you know one that goes "I can taste you while i am breathing...eck!"), including Zhao Lusi’s own track, adds to the emotional weight of key scenes and enhances the overall vibe.

I would've loved more development for the supporting cast, especially Sang Yan (the brother) whose relationship with Sang Zhi had so much potential for meaningful sibling bonding but i was still very pleased with what they gave us in the end.

From initiating kisses to pursuing intimacy, most romantic advances came from her, making their dynamic feel refreshingly mutual and healthy.

Not only did they share kisses openly in front of her brother , but they were even caught by her mother while kissing and showed no embarrassment about public displays of affection. While my first thought was, "Girl, have some privacy! Close the door! I know you two are engaged, but have some modesty," this choice actually delivered a powerful symbolic message. Since their relationship had been built on hidden feelings and secrecy, by keeping the door wide open, they conveyed that there were no more secrets—everything was now open, honest, and passionate.

‎Most crucially, many of the romantic moments and iconic scenes from the drama were completely original and not canon to the source material. Even when their conversations were similar, the setting, emotional delivery, body language, and intimacy were completely different. The novel rarely delivered those heart-fluttering scenes that made the drama so emotionally compelling and memorable.

‎It's worth noting a fact that in both the drama and novel, despite Duan Jiaxu being older, his voice and physical appearance remained remarkably youthful(similar to teenager) and charismatic. He was often described as possessing god-tier handsomeness with such a youthful look that when he visited Sangzhi's university and interacted with her classmates, none of her friends could tell he was significantly older than them.

‎## Final Verdict

‎**Drama version: A devoted young couple in perfect harmony**

‎**Novel version: A more conventional age-gap relationship with inherent social challenges**

‎I couldn't connect with the novel because everything that captivated me about the drama was absent in the original material. What makes it even more problematic is that in the novel, Sangzhi falls for Jiaxu at 13 and appeared very small and childlike. In the drama, what happened at 17 occurred at 13-15 in the novel, meaning Jiaxu's memories were primarily of that young, petite Sangzhi—essentially watching her grow up from childhood. Even with young Sangzhi, they took a graduation photo together, which later became an uncomfortable reminder when they started dating, creating awkward situations for both of them.In contrast, the drama featured a physically mature 17-year-old Sangzhi. Rather than being a source of discomfort, their photo became a treasured keepsake—something precious they could proudly show others without any awkwardness or shame.This fundamental change demonstrates why I have such appreciation for the creative team. Special recognition goes to the scriptwriter, director, and entire cast who elevated this story into something truly extraordinary and successful. Their thoughtful adaptations and original contributions transformed a decent novel into an exceptional drama that resonates with audiences worldwide.

This is one of my favorite shows and one that I will always recommend other people to watch. This is because this shows a love so pure and perfect. The way the two leads care for each other is perfect, it not unrealistic but instead very real and a way everyone should treat their partner. I also love how caring the FL is to the ML, usually it's the other way around but it so nice to see it in this drama. Lastly, I love how real the family dynamic is here. It is something truly adorable to see, especially how much the brother cares for his sister. It not an overbearing way but instead a protective and understanding way. Honestly everything about this show is perfect.
