What If Episode 19 Reactions
Timeline 2:
In this episode, Yu Jian and Xia Guo meet by chance on a work meeting and reminisce about the past, and what made them get here apart. She stayed in Shanghai and he stayed in Lenshan. At the last moment as they look together at the sunrise. They said:It's all destined by the will of the heavens. But they are both destined to be happy and to be better person at the choice they make. They say goodbye on this bridge after sunrise, wishing each other that they are always well and happy. One day, after this moment, Xia Guo receives a gift in the mail. It's a box full of drawings that Yu Jian has made over the years, with her face, and some with both of them. She cried as she reminisced about the past since she was a teenager. And that was the real farewell.
PS:
In this episode, it is shown that in the day in the past, when Yu Jian rushed out and took the taxi after breaking up with Xia Guo: moments later he asks the taxi driver to go back to the meeting point, and there he sees Xia Guo hugging Xue Min and crying. In the car, Yu Jian drives away and cries disconsolately. (This makes us wonder: both of them, that night, thought about going back on the breakup, but there was a misunderstanding, and neither of them knew that there was this moment of possible reconciliation. Not now, neither of them has revealed that intention, back in their past, two years ago.
Timeline 1:
In this episode, this timeline was very unhealthy, as it revolved around Xia Guo's distrust of Yu Jian (who is not very transparent) in his work encounters with Wei Ya. Although the episode doesn't show this, I believe that in the last episode Yu Jian will clarify himself. But I think the way he interacts with Wen Ya is not wise. Doesn't he know that this woman is interested in him? And in this episode I didn't see a romantic conversation between them, it seemed like something mechanical, and he didn't take into account what she might be thinking. He gave her some cosmetics as a gift, which she suspected were from Wen Ya (but she didn't say anything directly), but showed suspicion. She found the store of preserved natural flowers, which one day, Yu Jian presented her with a rose grown there. She followed Yu Jian on a business trip and found Wen Yia getting on the bus with him, who was very friendly. (No doubt in this episode), Yu Jian and Xia Guo's relationship in timeline 1 didn't seem healthy. (While in timeline 2 it was a beautiful and poetic farewell). Why don't they craft a happy story for this couple? They have everything to be happy. And why not? I didn't like that. It's very ambiguous. I hope for a better outcome in the next and final episode.
