Cases successful — personal relationships not so much

Qin’s divorce case turned out successfully. She was even offered her own firm. When she chatted with her boss they were in agreement that overseas monies would cause trouble for those handling them. Qin believes the divorce is a sham to divert assets to wife. This was the best way to save them money. She politely but firmly rejected the job offer. Shen sees the family of abducted boy together in restaurant and goes in to observe. They seem much happier in each other’s company. The boy is accepting them as family tho still wanting to live with foster family. Shen is the pain guru when mediating divorce case. He is undecided about his own choices when considering the loss of the woman he loves. Qin has been waiting in bakery across the street trying to get a glimpse of Shen. Shu has made a date with hubby and it turns into separating ways rather than making another baby. While they are partners and should walk together, career path choices are different. These tend to define where a person sees themselves heading. This is something a partner should support, not dictate. Shu has made it clear that deep down she has been disappointed with the mutton shop and wants him to aim higher. But there has been no discussion other than having things her way. As her current opinion has been made more and more clear, he is ready to live a happy life with his daughter and letting Shu move on with her career. He wants to stay available at whatever hour needed to be there for their traumatized daughter. I can’t fault him for that. This may be the lesson he learned from Tong incident. The child is safer and best cared for when the parent is present and available. I wasn’t expecting them to divorce but if she is unyielding and unhappy with the life her husband now embraces as best for him and daughter, it might be best for them to separate rather than her keep lamenting his choices and chiding him about them. They both need to take a step back and consider how co parenting will workout if they are two households. Will there even be that big of a change for Fei? Shu worries about her safety incessantly, but in the big scheme of things excepting her safety, Shu is not worried about delegating and not being present. Maybe she sees this as her duty as main breadwinner for family. Maybe her push at husband is to have him bring a bigger salary so she can ease up. But if that is the case, she needs to talk not demand and he needs to ask not confront. He is leaving to pick up Fei and Shu is left alone at the restaurant.Qin and Shen are also alone in their thoughts wishing for a better option. No couple is happy this episode.
