Gma’s love

I am still not a fan of Mr Zhou, but I adore his mother. He is not meanspirited but he likes to hedge his bets with deals rather than sincerity. This puts everybody that works with him in a bad light. Their petty arguments led to him being carted around on his wife’s car hood. They are most concerned about scaring each other into compliance than what works for their family. His mom has a facial injury due to an accident and her scars scared the boy. That started all this showboating. When Shen threatens to call the police and has Qin play along, the Gma overhears and comes in to plead for her daughter in law. I was crying with her and for her as she made her case to include never seeing her grandson again if they would not take the mom to jail. The actress playing the wife did a phenomenal job of changing her persona from the wealthy non caring ex to the bawling daughter embracing her mom in law for the first time in a long while. The scene was very moving. I also loved the scene with them eating the sesame snacks on the stairs with the dad looking on from a distance. This is who they really are when they stop being idiots to manipulate each other. The poor old man with the three vultures was dragged into court when it’s obvious he should have been in hospital. His family is a trio of argumentative self serving vampires sucking the very life out of him while grasping for his cash and estate. They are disgustingly reprehensible and should have been charged with public disturbance and elderly abuse. 🤬 I really think he did disconnect the tube to assist his breathing and chose to peacefully die while they argued out in the hall. Judge Shen is now being sued by this motley crew because they see a cash cow through the court. His mentor stuck up for him and did a damn good job, but now she is being chastised for it told this will put Shen in a worse light. I am not convinced of that. They were all set to settle and throw him under the bus. At the end of episode his dad is told about it thinks he should be held accountable. He tells his wife their son is busy. I don’t like the dad. It’s not that he’s really in the wrong, he just has to be a know it all ass when he admonishes his son. The mom should meet Shen out of the house instead of trying to get him to come home. She would get better results and actually be able to have a conversation. I don’t think it’s too late for the men in her life to make peace, but she is going to have to accept it will have to be on their terms rather than her machinations to force them together. The pretentious brother that sucked all the benevolence from his family he could and now says sorry I’m out when the family needs his help is a piece of work. He should have at least had the grace to look sheepish rather than entitled. Shen has been benched for now waiting for the outcome of the investigation. When all of them watched and heard from the sidelines. It is incredible they think they have the right to cast stones. This episode was touching and annoying. They definitely show the best and worst of family dynamics. The jobs dealing with them in their worst moments are definitely not for the faint of heart.
