Fei Yan asks Gong Zi to question Yuan Jie about Sha Bian, but gets no answers. Gao Qiang goes out to clear her mind and meets Fu Ling, who has been fired. After talking, the two decide to spend a day acting like “bad people,” causing chaos in the streets and at a newspaper office. At dawn, they go to a tea shop for breakfast and encounter Wan Qian Xia, Si Lang’s mother, who arrives with her granddaughter to stage a robbery and takes everyone hostage. Fu Ling relays her demand: she is searching for Si Chun, and if he is not found, a hostage will be killed every incense stick. When the search fails, Gong Zi suggests sneaking in through a secret passage, but the plan is exposed. Fei Yan then offers himself in exchange for the hostages.
