Mu finds a sorry Chuan and asks him about his current state. He tells her how heartbroken he feels about her betrayal. He continues to narrate instances of their marriage where he felt something was off... and suddenly, an arrow strikes him! Beqing's men have arrived to save their princess. A drunk Chuan risks his life to save Mu. She runs away at first but later comes to take him away to a safe spot. They reconcile while she is tending to his wounds. He asks her to be his one and only, and they share a passionate kiss. But, ding dong, the Plot Manager arrives, and Mu's next task is assassinating Chuan! The episode concludes with Mu Xiao Xi writing the whole time travel story in her original timeline. She concludes with the line of Mu being asked to kill Chuan. So, was it all a fictitious story?
