Uma versão sem originalidade

A versão filipina de O Que Houve com a Secretária Kim tenta capturar a essência do popular drama sul-coreano, trazendo uma narrativa leve, romântica e com um toque de mistério envolvendo o passado dos protagonistas. A história gira em torno de uma secretária extremamente competente e dedicada, que decide se demitir após anos de trabalho. Isso abala seu chefe narcisista e controlador, que, aos poucos, se vê apaixonado e determinado a fazê-la ficar.

O ponto forte da trama é a dinâmica divertida entre os dois protagonistas: o chefe egocêntrico que se vê desafiado pela decisão da secretária e a mulher independente que quer retomar sua vida. Ao mesmo tempo, o enredo revela um trauma compartilhado do passado, que levanta dúvidas sobre a origem dos sentimentos entre eles , seriam reais ou apenas fruto de uma ligação psicológica profunda?

🗣️ Opinião pessoal:

A adaptação filipina é charmosa, mas carrega o peso da comparação com a versão original. Algumas cenas são quase uma cópia direta, o que pode parecer pouco criativo para quem já assistiu o k-drama. Ainda assim, o casal principal tem boa química e os momentos de comédia romântica funcionam bem. A trama do passado traumático adiciona uma camada interessante à história, mas poderia ter sido mais aprofundada emocionalmente.

No geral, é uma versão simpática, com boas atuações e um ritmo leve, ideal para quem gosta de romances com toques de mistério. Não reinventa a fórmula, mas entrega uma história fofa, com momentos emocionantes e engraçados , mesmo que sem o mesmo impacto da obra original.

Filipino Feel Good Watch

Apprehensive at first to hear about the adapted WWWSK. Contrary to most, I didn’t like the Korean version as it was all shiny in the surface but lacked depth. This Pinoy adaptation gives so much feel, warmth and heart. They added the culture and humor into the scenes, characters and dialogue that Pinoy can easily relate too.
Pace is slow, but the episodes get better&better. Viewers will compare PSJ with Paulo. Physically, PSJ wins, but Paulo by far is a better actor. How he nailed his lines perfectly with his Coño accent and how his micro-expessions and emotions transit thru scenes are riveting to watch. (A suretell of status for Pinoys is how you speak English). After his dark dramas like Linlang and Fan Girl, this cutesy romcom is an adjustment for him and he did deliver well.
Kim is perfect for her role as the modern Filipina woman. I’m glad that her version of Sec Kim is more expressive and not lackluster. She was vocal with what she wanted, as what every woman should be. BMC was a walking red flag at first but he turned green and redeemed himself through the series. Unlike the kdrama version, where the ML was always the alpha, there was a better balance of power between BMC and Kim as a couple.
Paulo and Kim are very in tune with each other, as seen from their comedic timings to the sweet scenes. I like the gradual build up of their story and characters, their slowburns and eye gazes, and how they became each other’s compass. Onscreen and offscreen, their chemistry is off the charts. The supporting cast is true to life as they portray the typical fun and caring Pinoy workmates and families you have. Mental health, facing one’s fear, forgiveness and redemption are amongst the drama’s themes. Happy that the writers added more scenes/dialogue for the themes above as these completed the loose ends that were missing from the korean version.
Kudos to the director, writers, cast&crew. You can tell that everyone has poured so much love into this project. It is heartwarmimg to finally watch a well—made drama without the need for subtitles. They did a great job of storytelling, and showcased the Filipino way of life and heart.
