But Li Rong is hopeful that he is still alive since his body has not been found yet. Instead of copying scriptures, she begins writing letters to Pei. Su Rong Qing sends his men to find Pei's whereabouts, while Su Rong Hua thinks Pei's death is a good opportunity for his brother. On the last day of the 20-day grace, Su Rong Qing visits Li Rong. He proposes to marry her. Meanwhile, in the Imperial Court, when the ministers are pressing His Majesty to proceed with the execution, a seriously injured Pei Wen Xuan announces his return with evidence.
