?❤️ Strong Women, Soft Men, and All the Feels — Sign Me Up!

If you're into dramas where the guy is rich, powerful, and the girl is helpless and crying in every other episode — this is NOT that show. First Love Scout flips the script, and I loved every second of it.

Our female lead? A total powerhouse. Independent, driven, and doesn’t wait around to be rescued. And the male lead? Supportive, sweet, and exactly the kind of green flag you'd pray for. (Seriously, I caught myself whispering, “God, please send someone like him to me too.”)

This was the first drama I watched in 2025, and wow — what a way to start the year! It made me hope, cry, and weirdly gave me the motivation to get out of bed and chase my goals (who knew a K-drama could double as a life coach? 😂).

Yes, I’ll admit — there was a point where it felt like the story was stretching a bit too much, but I was already so invested that I had to see it through. And I’m glad I did.

So if you’re looking for a drama with a strong woman–supportive man combo, emotional moments, and some unexpected life inspo — First Love Scout is the one. Go for it!

love scout: a pleasant surprise

i gave this drama a chance since it kept getting recommended to me and i can see exactly why it's so well-loved.

right from the first episode, it does a great job introducing the characters and their dynamics. the interactions feel authentic and grounded and you immediately get a sense of who these people are and how they relate to one another. the cinematography and editing are excellent too, subtly setting a cozy, natural mood.

i'm usually not too keen office romances, so i wasn't initially drawn to this one. but the cast and their performances completely won me over. i didn't even realize how many actors i already admired were in it. and it's not just the main cast; the supporting roles and even the cameos are consistently strong, adding depth and texture to the world.

what i particularly appreciate is how well the drama captures slice-of-life moments. even amidst conflicts and tensions, there's a calming, almost meditative quality to watching these characters navigate their daily lives. and while this isn't a comedy, it does include lighter humorous moments that land beautifully. they feel organic, never forced, and offer the perfect balance against the more poignant or emotional beats.

the romance is handled with impressive subtlety. heart-fluttering moments are crafted so naturally that they never feel overblown, and the chemistry between the leads is effortless. their connection feels real, lived-in, and utterly believable.

certain character dynamics reminded me of dramas like encounter and why her, and i particularly loved how the male lead's role as a father adds layers of care and grounding to his character, it gave me similar vibes to flower of evil.

the only thing i did not like was the use of the childhood connection trope. it was not necessary, but it didn't bother me too much because it didn't have a huge part in the drama overall. the ost was a bit underwhelming, but not terrible.

overall, love scout exceeded my expectations. it's a charming, deeply satisfying drama with a rich, lived-in world, natural romance, and moments that are both calming and engaging i'm genuinely glad i gave this drama a chance.

Love Scout

great drama, but was centered around work TOO much

ji-yun and eunho’s relationship was so cute to watch, and i love byeol so much!! she was adorable and my favorite character.

if this drama wasn’t so centered around work and gave us more scenes with jiyun, eunho, and byeol as a family, i would’ve loved it so much more. i swear everyone in this drama is a workaholic. 😭

they should’ve given us more conflicts in the show that were related to the main couple/ their families rather than their company.

but overall it was a decent show!!

A mature love story thats a slow burn

This drama offers a take on mature romance, focusing on subtle emotions and connections rather than dramatic twists. The story unfolds at a slow pace, showing understanding and shared moments.

The leads have chemistry, with interactions that feel realistic rather than overly romanticized. Their growing connection is built on small gestures. His daughter adds warmth to the story, bringing in lighthearted moments, though her role doesn’t take up too much space in the narrative.

Unfortunately, many parts of the drama couldn’t fully grab my attention. While the mature and realistic storytelling is a strength, a tighter pace would have made the drama much more engaging and I would of preferred if there was a little more romance and deep felt conversations between the leads.

my perfect secretary sums It up

he was just perfect for her. If you want a medium to light hearted drama that doesn't drag the unassery breakups and where the couple is healthy and their love is pure this is for you. it doesn't have as much laughs as I would have thought but it was a cute little watch.
what I liked:
his pure heart
not dragging the conflicts
the love of family
the sweet spring feels
the fresh balanced take on female CEO and male secretary
the fashion
the OST
the cinematography was no joke

what I didn't like:
the love could have been deeper
they didn't linger on the sweet moments long enough. it felt more like teasing.
that they didn't become a power work couple like I thought but I got it.

Charming

The writer found a good balance between all the planes of the story, it is not exaggerated yet captivating,
it has some sugar, yet not too much, the characters are designed not too precise yet not too fuzzy. There are of course
a few forced points a few foreseeable problems and solutions. Only the last episode gave me the impression of fill in,
probably the writer was out of ideas. Acting is of course great, the music is ok, but the very best in my opinion are the
numerous and various views of beautiful spots in Seoul. If you visited Seoul, you'll love this drama for showing many
beautiful places as they really are. I wish, more creators make the effort to film outside, in real places, using the beautiful scenery they may find!

a solid 9 because this drama wrapped it up nicely. No need for 16 eps and all the unnecessary drama. it has been a while since i last watched a day to day romance and im so glad i wasnt disappointed. both the mc and the fl were matured enough to not have dumb misunderstandings. no frustrations were needed. eun ho is cute asf with the kid and it made me like kids somehow lolll. love ji yoon omg such a cool independent woman. i love how straight forward she is with her feelings and her honesty, yet she is able to articulate emotions. and i loveeeeeee how in this kdrama the role is reversed: male secretary, woman boss. it was soo refreshing to see the women take the lead. dont get me started on the ost omg, love the music, especially the piano (biased thou since im already obsessed with piano)
fluffy and light romance while keeping me in hooked. definitely worth checking out and would be a nice rewatch whenever i feel stressed out

❤️ reverse gender role, headhunting cases & acting

I tend to watch more Chinese dramas than Korean dramas but I was in the mood for kdrama after enjoying
'When the Phone Rings'. I watched this series at the recommendation of my dad.

What I liked:
1. Gender roles - I like the reverse gender roles portrayed in this drama. I watched the different lifestyles with FL being CEO while ML being her secretary
2. Parenting - ML is also a single dad. Love watching Eunho moments with his daughter Byeol. Heartwarming!
3. Acting - Overall solid performances by the cast including the child actress and actor.
4. Headhunting - I enjoyed watching headhunters in action. My favourite episode is the luxury good appraiser - what an insight!
5. Product placement - I actually enjoy watching scenes featuring sponsors, Subway & Kopiko. In fact I even bought Kopiko at local supermarket.
6. Guest star - I am a fan of Go Won Hee so I was delighted to see her in this drama. Her episode was touching.
7. Styling - Love the styling for FL, ML & Junghoon.
Lee Jun Hyuk was very handsome. He reminded me of Superman Christipher Reeves.

What I disliked:
1. Rivalry - It's wonderful to see 2 powerful CEOs being competitive with each other. The antagonist is sinister with her ways, which is great because it highlights the value of integrity. However I dislike how the conflict between 2 of them was resolved after so much build up.
2. Ending - The last episode had dull moments. Junghoon & Sohyeon's scenes were not exciting as I felt that there wasn't much build up between them in earlier episodes.

Favourite scene
When FL told ML that she liked him

Just finished watching #LoveScout & it was such an easy watch. I think one of the best among recent K-drama releases. The writing was well-balanced — easily the show’s strongest point.
It’s not your typical romance-heavy show. I’d say it’s about 60% business & 40% romance.
The story dives into the world of headhunting (firms that find suitable candidates for companies) — something I didn’t even know existed! I enjoyed learning abt that side of things.
The show felt very female-focused as it was about the fl growth, both personally & professionally
The male lead, a single dad, was written maturely, with no over-the-top “mushy” moments, just realistic, grounded interactions. Their romance was handled in a way that truly fits people in their 30s, navigating office relationships.
The side characters were likable and even when the show leaned into classic K-drama tropes (evil chaebol CEO, revenge plots, childhood trauma, the second lead, etc.), it all made sense in context and never felt overdone. The writer didn’t complicate things unnecessarily.
Once the main couple got together, they stayed together — no breakups, no misunderstandings. Just a healthy, respectful relationship between two mature people. The ml is a total green flag, and the fl treats him with genuine respect — their relationship felt mature & equal.
No angst, no dragging — just a smooth, well-written drama. I'm glad I watched it because I dropped the first time around.
The writer’s definitely on my radar now.
9/10 for healing my trust issues with modern K-dramas.

A treasure hunt of awkward moments and cute smiles! 8/10, fun ride!

"My Rating: 8/10 – A heartfelt drama with a powerful message about looking beyond first impressions. I loved how it challenged judgments and celebrated growth, and the emotional payoff was worth it. That said, it is a slow burn—the pacing dragged at times, especially early on, which might test patience. Still, the character depth and relatable themes stuck with me."

Sweet and beautiful!

This show was great and really made my heart flutter more then some other shows. Both of the leads were well cast and even the side characters were enjoyable. It also was such a great story and kept my attention the whole time. The romance was also very different from other kdramas. It showed a more mature romance and the funny cartoony moments from other kdramas were there but were far more suddle. The lead characters were really well written too. Ji-yun was tought in a way that wasn't annoying, but also suprisingly funny. Eun-ho was such a cute and caring person, but suprisingly tough when standing upfor others. This honestly was a refreshing and short kdrama and I would honestly recommend this to everyone.
