First Impressions of Episode 1
WARNING: THERE MAY BE SOME SPOILERS, AND MY OPINION MIGHT NOT ALIGN WITH YOURS. I’M OPEN TO CHANGING MY VIEW AS THE SHOW PROGRESSES, GIVEN THE SOLIDITY OF THE STORY.Performances:
- Ohm: I have to say Ohm was fantastic in his performance! Since "Bad Buddy," he has evolved a lot and has shown himself to be a talented actor. I'm excited to see what he does next.
- Leng:Leng's performance was also quite good. I hadn't seen anything of him before, but he was convincing. I'll be keeping an eye on how he performs in the upcoming episodes.
Protagonists:
- Min seems to be the type of person who is extremely caring and protective of his brother, willing to do anything for him.
- Although Q may seem a bit spoiled and egocentric, I have a feeling there is a kinder side to him. I'm curious to see how his character will develop.
Story:
- The first episode was a bit weak, but I still liked it. It’s good that some things have already happened and the pace isn't dragging. The chemistry between the characters is nice, and there were some funny moments.
About the Cast:
- In terms of other actors, there wasn’t much newness. GMMTV could vary the faces more. Not that the same actors are bad, but seeing the same faces all the time can get a bit tiring. Since it's the first episode, I’ll wait to see how the characters evolve.
What I Hope For:
- That the story maintains a more dynamic pace, with more moments between the couple and more action, given the involvement of a kidnapping.
- The plot is interesting and has the potential to be very good, so I hope they don’t ruin it.
- If you don’t like Ohm, please avoid leaving negative comments. Let others enjoy the show in their own way.

I was looking forward to this kind of series. A kidnapping/crime/action series with romance. That's how it was advertised. Watch both trailers, if you don't believe me.
I have seen Ohm many times, but his best performance sure was in Bad Buddy, where - with Nanon - his acting reached new heights. While Bad Buddy was just a cute romance series, it was very well-made, had great music, beautiful (emotional) scenes. It became repetitive and the "commercial art" got out of hand, but it was good. Very good.
Now I expected this series to be similar good. A big hit. Why not? Leng is beautiful, the couple works well together, which isn't surprising since Ohm is known for having chemistry with everyone. But what did we get?
The writing is wattpad-style, as if it was written by a 15 years old. You feel the writer is inexperienced (not only in writing, also in life). Almost every scene is written in such an immature way, that you know the writer didn't think it through. Why, though? Who is working on this? Why didn't they make some slight changes to the script? Why are they putting out such a cheap product? Even the cinematography looks cheap, it looks like they tried to keep the budget low. Again: Why? Did they have no trust in this series becoming a big hit? Does this have to do something with the Ohm-Nanon drama? (I don't know the details).
To be precise: The kidnapping plot is not believable, at least not in the way it was presented. Min as a character is too simple, just the good guy who did something bad to be able to pay the medical bills of his brother. He likes Q, which is pretty obvious. This is too fast. Just give us some time, show us how they fall in love. We got some lovey-dovey moments already in episodes 2 (talking about being someone's type). No build-up. None. No character development. None. Who wants to watch this? Girls and boys who enjoy watching cute boys being cute and in love. Girls and boys who don't want deep stories, good characters, complex plots. Those people are most likely the target audience of GMMTV, so yeah, why bother to try harder, when there are people who will scream when those two come closer, lips almost touching, a soft smile, a longing stare. Who needs good characters and plot development? "But that's not true!" - they will tell you, and try to explain the non-existent depths of this badly thought-out plot.
It's disappointing, to say the least.

The acting was superb
OHM sure never disappoint with his acting , LENG amazed me for a rookie , then both together waow the chemistry is very nice .The acting , the colour grading , the timing , everything about this series speaks classy and on another level , the series is sure is a breath of fresh air so excited for episode 2

Amazing Series
A very beautiful series. The cast performed well, and the storyline is very engaging. The cinematography is also a delight to watch. I’m looking forward to the next episode. I really can’t wait. I was amazed last Friday if you not watching you've missed a lot,watch it many times every second was so good,actors,plot,drama,ost trust me kidnap series is the best and i hope everyone spend time travel with us through the journey till the end ,its on Netflix, gagaoolala and youtube every Friday

review on Kidnap (so far)
The series delivered a different image than what it would be, we would have kidnapping, a little action and everything else, in the end we received a low quality series, without a script and with a terrible performance by Leng (who is a new actor, but the minimum is to know how to act and he doesn't know how). There is nothing that keeps you watching throughout the episodes, there are no twists and turns, a shallow and low- quality seriesGMM this year is not delivering anything in terms of BLS, it is in decline

Its Goofy and painfully mediocre right now.
It’s kinda goofy, ohms giving 75 percent or lesser of his abilities most of the time, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing since he’s just tends to be inherently good.Lengs acting chops are yet to be seen one episode is not enough for me to judge.
The script is a bit awkward and strangely paced.
I hate and I mean HATE the colour grading and general lighting ,
It looks so dull and flat and even sort of hazy at times which I don’t think matches the tone of the show they’ve gone for and detracts from the already Unfortunately mediocre comedy.
I think they were going for some sort of gritty realism vibes( visually) but they have missed It feels staged and lacks clarity in artistic vision if there was any.
I am not a fan of the fact that ohms character follows leng around and seems to start to like (I don’t mean in a romantic way necessarily) him already. I feel like it would have been stronger if he was grappling with the act he was about to commit a bit more since I feel like that would’ve added interesting depth to his character from the beginning. But they might remedy that later (they better)
I see a lot of comments saying the rating is unnaturally low and though I agree that the Ohm cannon shippers are out of hand these days I don’t think the rating is that far off since I would give it a 7.6 at the moment and I usually give shows two episodes to hook me so I will watch the second one but if its like this one I don’t think I’ll be watching it till its done and there’s indications that it improved in a worthwhile way. Which would be sad since I really enjoy watching Ohm on screen

Very interesting story

Nice but Long Pacing
Tbh, i don't really excited about this series when it's announced, but because this is first series from ohmleng so i wanna watch it. I don't have any expectations on this but kidnap series is pretty good so far, the story is nice and not boring. but i really don't like about long pacing like when main character got hit on each other, like that gaze scene so long. and many more look like. But this series is nice and great!! and last but not least, lengso face is kinda similar with toey. when i watch them, i immediately think about Framebook(Ohmtoey). idk why!!!Was this review helpful to you?
100% GMM, 100% boring
It's about a guy who's in deep debt because of hospital bills for his seriously ill brother. He kidnaps a rich kid to make some money, but when the time comes to kill him as instructed, he can't do it and decides to hide him at home until he finds a solution. We've known all this since the trailer.What we don't know is that this dark but interesting story immediately becomes the subject of a romantic series: soft music, sitcom sound effects, and look how we fall into bed on top of each other and how I feed you when filmed in close-up. In short, nothing to do with the original subject.
But somehow, it makes sense. GMM is no longer interested in making good series, but just in showcasing good-looking, well-known actors for them to do months of fan service. The fact that Ohm broke down during his last pairing with Nanon doesn't worry anyone.
This series is going to be a hit because that's all the fans want: two actors playing bromance to the extreme for months or even years.
In short, GMM will give fans what they want, and they'll be happy. But to watch a good series, you have to go elsewhere. And that's what I'm going to do.
