Vintage Glam & Hepburn Charms: How Yaya Stole My Heart in My Cherie Amour
I have to admit, I went into watching My Cherie Amour expecting to drool over Tor Thanapob’s smoldering looks and dashing presence, but, oh my goodness, I was completely swept off my feet by Yaya Urassaya and her fabulous portrayal of Anong! The first four episodes were nothing short of dazzling, and if I didn’t know better, I’d say Yaya must have a little Audrey Hepburn in her DNA because her facial expressions are pure magic—expressive, elegant, and enchanting in every scene. Think Audrey in Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Roman Holiday, but with an added Thai twist that makes you want to smile at her mischievous charm and laugh at her sparkling wit.The costumes alone are a love letter to the glamor of the 1920s and 30s, with a Great Gatsby vibe that is to die for. Imagine flapper dresses with sequins, feathered headpieces, and sumptuous silk gowns that make every frame look like a fashion magazine spread. It’s like stepping back in time to an era where elegance and sophistication were woven into every fabric. Every outfit Anong wears is meticulously curated—from hats to gloves to accessories. And let’s not forget the hairstyles! One minute, Yaya’s got waves cascading down like she’s Daisy Buchanan, and the next, she’s sporting an updo that screams regal grace. It’s all so lavish that I could practically hear the champagne glasses clinking in the background.
But here’s the kicker: while the costumes take you on a whirlwind through the 20s and 30s, the dialogue feels like it’s got a touch of Victorian grace, making it a blend that’s both timeless and fresh. I was hooked on every word, every flirtatious glance, and every dramatic declaration that came with an almost poetic quality. It’s like Jane Austen met F. Scott Fitzgerald, and they decided to create a world together.
Now, a dear friend of mine had initially hyped me up to fangirl over Tor—“Oh, he’s so handsome, just wait till you see his smirk!” she said. But then, off she went on a whirlwind vacation to Asia, leaving me here to experience My Cherie Amour on my own. And what happens? I become utterly captivated by Yaya’s drop-dead gorgeous costumes and impeccable acting. Tor is, of course, swoon-worthy (don’t get me wrong!), but Yaya steals the show in every scene she’s in. It’s like she lights up the screen, bringing Anong’s character to life in such a way that you just can’t look away.
So, if you’re looking for a drama that’s got everything—romance, comedy, vintage glamour, and a lead actress whose elegance is reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn—My Cherie Amour is a must-watch. And don’t blame me if you find yourself looking up where to buy vintage gloves and feathered headbands after watching!

The chemistry is off charts!!!
I had this drama in my watchlist for the longest time, I was waiting for it to complete airing. I started this drama because I am a fan of the ML Tor, but i discovered the gem that is the ML, she is so good and does justice to the character. She has such expressive eyes and a very seductive smile.I was a bit skeptical about watching it after reading the reviews about the number of misunderstandings in the plot and the ML's mother being insufferable, which all this is true but I had expected that much from a lakorn. What made me stay was the slow-burn and the tension between the leads. Every eye-contact, every slight touch sent sparks and butterflies. Their chemistry was everything. Anyone who is contemplating watching this, I would suggest you give it a shot, you might find a good drama for yourself.
Thankyou for reading this!

Delicious sweet dessert by Tor & Yaya
PLOT: Bangkok 1947. The FL, a young rich girl and ultra spoiled by her 4 brothers, tries to avoid the suitors that they present to her, by passing off her best friend (the ML2) as her BF. The ML (ML2's brother) is a rigid, conservative judge, and is called upon by the brothers to evaluate the suitors. During this procedure, the FL will fall in love and realize that no one suits her better than the ML. But complicated family situations and differences in status and personality will be difficult to overcome...+++ a magical CL with cute, adorable, dazzling Yaya (her outfits and costumes are superb) and Tor at the top of his art as a tortured ML, stuck between his responsibilities, his traumas, and his feelings.
+++ Flawless production with a very reliable reconstruction of the sets, accessories, outfits, music of the era. The rhythm is without downtime.
+++ Credible story (it's still a drama :)
+++ very good OST (lots of classic music)
### Some characters are excessive (the overprotectiveness of the brothers, the irrational and toxic mother of the ML).
=> A delicious moment, to be watch again without hesitation.

Délicieux dessert sucré par Tor & Yaya
PLOT: Bangkok 1947.

The drama highlights the male lead's virtues much less, while Anong is more adorable.
In the book, the male lead has to go through many more hardships and prove his goodness far more than in the drama. To begin with, his family is not wealthy, and they do not live in a large house. He originally wanted to join the military but had to give up that dream to become a judge instead. He then works hard to support his younger siblings, redeems the inherited farmland for Choi, and even borrows money from others to buy a house for Chatchai to use as his bridal home. To make things more sacrificial, the woman Chatchai marries is Chanthon—the very woman the male lead secretly loves. Due to this heartbreak, combined with neglecting his own health, he falls severely ill. While the series changes the story so that Khun Phra already loves Anong, the book depicts Anong being deeply impressed by Khun Phra's goodness. She volunteers to take care of his heart to match his virtue, which eventually touches him and makes him love her in return.

So Flirty!
Such a beautiful love story! I just love dramas set in this era, (this was set in 1947/48 but I like anything set in the 1900s) the outfits always look so classy, and hers were especially so. I just loved Anong, she was so confident and full of life and she went for what she wanted with no hesitation (rare in a fl). I liked that they seemed like total opposites but they were both big family people who stood by what they believed in. I loved Prasit, he was their biggest shipper and and absolute sweetheart. Nid was adorable and Boi was super funny. I know that his mother had been through a lot, but she was insufferable. At least she redeemed herself by making amends and being less controlling in the last episode. I loved how at the beginning she easily confused and flustered Wichai then when they actually got together I felt like I was intruding on something. They were such a strong, supportive and sweet couple (who communicated and grew throughout their relationship)! And omg, the tension and chemistry in the smallest gestures was amazing! They didn’t even have to touch for me to see it. His mannerisms were also relatable and you could see there was a lot of thought put behind the characters. Love this so much that I never wanted it to end! I also really liked the little sayings at the end of each episode, they kinda summarized the episode in a couple words. Was this review helpful to you?
This is a solid watch!! Worth it !!
This is a solid !! The fact that I was somewhat in a drama coma with all the new releases left and right ; & was looking for something to watch to get me out of the funk.. found this randomly and got hooked, even with 19 episodes!!I wasn’t sure but I like the main lead & decided to try 2 episodes, and I enjoyed it from episode 1.. glad i got to binge watch and not when it was airing 😄
Oh WICHAI !!!!
Slow burn, angst, romance, fluff..
This is set in supposed 1940’s-1950’s Thailand..
Thé lifestyle, values, experiences & exposures were incredibly different..
Some characters and the love story is insufferable 😩 but a great ending.. I wanted more of their love. . Rare for drama endings to make me want more, but I wanted more of the fluff in the end… 🥹😅🤭
I enjoyed watching..
