🌙 When the truth sets them free

This episode finally lets the truth settle. With everything revealed, the weight of the past begins to lift, and there’s a quiet sense of healing. Yu and Xiu’s closeness — from the hospital scene to their playful back-and-forth — felt warm and earned, a reminder of how naturally they belong together.I had mixed feelings about forgiveness and distance, but what stayed with me was the idea of starting over. Not forgetting the past, but no longer being trapped by it. Watching characters choose their own paths, separate from old shadows, made this episode feel like sunlight after a long storm.

Apologies and Goodbyes — graveside truth, future talks, and a farewell that stings

Episode 27 is quieter, but emotionally heavy in the best way. In the aftermath of everything, the ML goes to his father’s grave to pay respects — and his mother appears too, for the first time since his father’s death. That moment alone says so much. She’s returning to America to sort everything out and is finally moving toward divorce, and for once she actually seems… steady. Like she’s choosing reality instead of denial.

With the truth out in the open, the ML can finally visit the FL’s parents properly as her boyfriend. And you can tell marriage and the future are on his mind. But then the FL misspeaks and says she isn’t thinking about marriage “at any time,” and the ML is genuinely hurt. From his perspective, he sees a future with her — and what she said makes him feel like he isn’t in her plans.

Thankfully, after some genuinely hilarious moments, the FL gets the ML out of his room and clears it up. She doesn’t mean she can’t see marriage — she means he’s already part of her life. He isn’t something she needs to plan for because he’s already there. Before him, her life was run according to a plan. With him, she can dream, breathe, and be herself. And honestly? That explanation is so her, and so them.

The RL also returns and messages the ML asking to meet. We get glimpses of them as children — and it’s a reminder that the RL wasn’t always like this. There was a sweetness there once, and he genuinely treated the ML kindly. In the present, he finally apologises for everything he’s done. He mentions they’re renaming the company because it doesn’t feel right under the circumstances, and he admits he always wanted to be better than the ML. He saw the ML as a rival… while the ML never really did. And then he says goodbye.

I can’t help but feel for the RL. His childhood doesn’t look like a good one, especially with a father like that — and honestly, the ML’s mother doesn’t seem clued up enough to have noticed any abuse even if it was right in front of her. He’s not evil — just damaged and desperate in the ways that make people do selfish things. I really hope he gets a better future.

This episode feels like the start of healing — not because everything is fixed, but because people are finally telling the truth and choosing their next step on purpose.

Truth revealed

Yu kneeling by her at the hospital and her motioning him to bed for snuggle time. 🥰I am annoyed that mom was there at the memorial. Yu of course forgives her because that is what he does. But that he is going overseas with her, spending time separated from Xiu, and that she talks of planning their wedding annoys me. 😝😝😝The meeting of the father in law🤣😂 Don’t forget the dad still has swag.🤣😂 The thought bubble conversation of how to get dad to stop playing chess. 🤣 The past can finally be let go as they now know the complete truth and that Yu’s dad also sacrificed to try to make that happen. Xiu gets herself in a bit of trouble with not seeing marriage in the near future. This has Qin game play trying to outwit each other.🤣😂 This is so like them and enjoyable to watch. She is being given a chance to be head of a new project and she is wanting to work on it without Yu’s refinement steps. Shen wants to meet. I appreciate Xiu accompanying Yu. There is a game of them playing and when Zhen loses he says it is ok to start over. He is thoughtful as he realizes he was never considered a rival. I like that he gives back the name Qin’s father made for the company. After quoting Xiu’s words about reshaping the future I was really hoping for the we could start over. Yu is harsher with him after 20 years of attempted rivalry and here I found myself a bit sad. Pei is at least going to figure out what his vision is and it will not be a by product of his dad’s endeavors. Elder Pei has a list of charges pending and more to be added. Until 20 yrs have passed, he hasn’t begun serving the debt he owes.😝 This episode looks to a bright future for everybody and finally the Sun after the storm.
