The episode started on such a sweet note. I couldn't stop smiling. The chemistry between Wang Fa and Wan Xing is overflowing, it jumps off the screen.
It changed when Wang Fa met Jason's mother. I can't fault her for the way she reacted. Losing a child is a pain no parent should ever have to endure. I've always believed that no mother should have to bury her own child. Seeing Jason's notebook and those painful words reopened wounds that had never truly healed. You could see Wang Fa's trauma being triggered. He's still carrying so much guilt and grief and he hasn't really moved on. Him choosing to leave because he couldn't bear it anymore felt completely understandable to me.
The farewell party the boys prepared for Wang Fa was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Watching the boys hug him had me in tears. Even the nonchalant Wen Cheng Ye couldn't hold back and gave him a hug. Them taking a group picture and smiling despite feeling sad got me 😭
