i actually wasn't gonna watch flex x cop because i looked at the cast and park ji hyun
wasn't in season 2 but i started watching because of a friend that was watching flex x cop so i started watching anyway season 1 was really really good when i started watching flex x cop s2 i thought what will they do with park ji hyun her cacarter and they resolved it really well i thought it wasn't gonna be the same anymore but i was completely wrong yoo sung ho his acting was A M A Z I N G one of the best villans i've seen

if you're dropping s2 after 1 or 2 episodes its your loss i think season 2 was just as good it would be nice
if we see hye ra and ji hyun working together on cases in s3.

so pls don't drop it after only 2 episodes

Jin Isoo-istic: A Genre of His Own

The acting in this drama should genuinely be studied by directors. I don't think anyone could have played Jin Isoo better than Ahn Bo-hyun! He completely is Jin Isoo — every expression, every reaction, every little mannerism feels so perfectly in character.

The storyline is beautifully structured, with every mystery unfolding in a way that keeps you hooked. Even the investigation patterns feel so uniquely Isoo-istic. The way he approaches every case, the unexpected methods, the chaos, and yet somehow the brilliance behind it — dramas like this are truly rare to find.

And the tension between the female lead and male lead is impeccable. Their chemistry feels natural without taking away from the mystery and investigation, and the female lead was perfectly cast for this role as well.

And the villain... that man genuinely behaved like a psycho! The way his connections slowly surfaced and everything around him started unraveling was so well done.

This drama knows exactly how to balance mystery, investigation, character dynamics, tension, and just the right amount of chaos. in Isoo-istic is officially a genre of its own.

And that ending?! 👀 Well... looks like we might have a Season 3 coming our way. If that's the case, I'm absolutely here for it.

Otro caso resuelto

Si bien deseaba poder ver a la líder del equipo 1 que teníamos en la primera temporada, el desenvolvimiento e historia detrás de esta segunda temporada me gustó mucho. Para las personas muy sensibles o que les desagrada lo relacionado a crimen y asesinato un tanto gráfico, proceda con precaución al ver esta serie. En todo caso, las series de crimen, acción, violencia o incluso aventura no son mis favoritos ni suelo buscar ver los que tengan esos géneros como punto principal; sin embargo el desarrollo de esta serie me mantuvo enganchada de principio a fin, y me terminó gustando mucho.

La sinergia del equipo protagonista, el trabajo conjunto con el equipo 2, y las estrategias poco convencionales para resolver los crímenes fue divertido y satisfactorio de ver.

Esperando el anuncio de la tercera temporada; para entonces, probablemente vea la primera y segunda temporada nuevamente.

The King of Humour and Action is Back Baby

Watching the first two episodes of this show reminded me why I loved Flex X Cop in the first place. It’s action-packed, but still incredibly funny. While episodes 3 and 4 felt a bit more serious, I'm still invested and curious to see what happens next.

I love that the show didn’t try to magically make Jin Isoo a super detective after all his wins in Season 1. He’s still incredibly cocky, and it’s so much fun watching him make mistakes, learn from them, and grow. I’m definitely excited to see how much more he grows, both as a person and as a detective.

Now, with regards to our new female lead, Ms. Joo Hyera definitely steps up to the plate in a phenomenal way. She’s strict, no-nonsense, and, for lack of a better word, badass; just the person Isoo needs around.

So far, I’m really enjoying this. Lowkey wish I could just binge the whole season right now, but as they say, patience is a virtue.

The team isnt the same anymore

For me Kang Sang Jun (detective park) played an every important role and we finally see him and jin isoo form a friendly bond. Where is that in season 2? it disappeared, even hyungin guy (detective kyunjin) stopped coming in as much. If you see their roles they were taken down to support roles, this is the biggest mistake ever. Jin isoo is not a complete character, he is made by his team. the way detetive lee treated him was replaced by joo hyera howeer what about park and kyunjin? what made s1 so funny was how the chemistry was in there, lee and park didnt like jin isoo but kyunjin did. They grew into liking him, And we also saw dr.yoon, her skills, and ofc all of their other merits, not just jin isoo this jin isoo that or just jin isoo x ms lee (like they are doing with jin isoo x hyera). Jin isoo x hyera is not working at all for me.
Kang Sang Jun and Dr. Yoon were so much more iconic, And also Ms. Lee (and her dad) had her own backstory, which made the duo with jin isoo seem realistic. Now, we know nothing abt joo hyera, i hope they do show that. But im genuinely missing Detective park and jin isoos banter.
Wont continue unless i hear something else.

Boring

The first season wasn’t exactly spectacular but there was still some things I was curious about and looked forward to. The second season felt plain boring.

The first two episodes did not get me curious enough about who is messing with Yi Su. I simply, do not care. The police work, everything felt so careless even for a comical police drama setting. The investigations felt uninteresting. There is no suspense that keeps me hooked. It just felt plain.

The casting was also a miss for me. I personally have no problem with any of the actors or actresses. It’s just that part of the charm of this drama for me is anticipating something to brew (romantically) between the leads. As much as I love Ahn Bo Hyun and Jung Eun Chae, they don’t give me a good picture together. I’ve always think that Ahn Bo Hyun suited female co stars who has a smaller figure and looks somewhat feminine even with a tough role. My Name, Doberman, and his other previous works understood that. For this one, Jung Eun Chae is simply too tall, chic, and has that masculine feminine beauty to her. I feel like there are better actors that suit being paired with her visually. The leads gave me more of a sibling picture than anything else.

Her dress during Yi Su’s beer release event also felt too “tomboy.” I don’t have a problem with tomboy because it suits the character but for a masculine feminine actress like her, they should’ve gave her a more feminine dress just to give that wow factor and can make me have that lowkey wish that the leads will have something going on romantically. I’m not saying that there should be romance, but I’ve always find charm in hoping for romance in a non-romance drama.

Shiny Surface, Empty Inside

Flex x Cop — Season 2
Propelled into the police force against his will, Jin I Su (Ahn Bo Hyun), heir to a powerful conglomerate, continues investigating cases far removed from his privileged world. After the departure of Lee Kang Hyun (Park Ji Hyun), Ju Hye Ra (Jung Eun Chae) takes over as team leader and becomes his new partner.
The male lead, who brought much of the series’ charm through his presence, exuberance, and completely offbeat personality, is given far less room this time around. Even the directing and costumes, which were already sometimes poorly suited to his character in the first season, seem even less appropriate here, while close-up shots of him become much rarer. And yet Ahn Bo Hyun’s highly expressive, sometimes deliberately exaggerated acting is precisely one of the show’s greatest strengths.
The arrival of Ju Hye Ra, a much more serious, cold and cynical character, only reinforces this change. Jung Eun Chae brings plenty of elegance and character to the role; the problem is mainly the pairing itself, which never feels natural. They save each other’s lives and go through situations together that should naturally create some kind of bond, even a conflicted one, yet nothing genuinely develops between them. There is no subtle interplay, no light tension or playful edge to their exchanges, not even the kind of ambiguity that could have made their opposition lively and endearing.
Instead, Jin I Su suddenly comes across as almost childish in his rejection of his new boss. This attitude could have been a great source of comedy if it had been fully embraced as such. But the humor never really takes off. Some situations clearly seem designed to be funny, yet the direction never manages to make the most of them.
Jin I Su could easily remain extravagant and eccentric while still becoming the man for the job when necessary. Ahn Bo Hyun clearly has that range. It is the writing that seems to reduce his character to a form of inconsistency instead of making use of that contrast.
The plot then quickly shifts into a much more conventional investigation: serial murders, bodies, skeletons, clues… an accumulation of familiar police-drama devices without any genuinely fresh idea behind them. The problem is not the lack of realism — a story can perfectly well depart from reality and still be compelling — but the lack of creativity, and above all, the lack of rhythm.
The supporting characters never really manage to take over. By removing Jin I Su from the center of the staging in this way, the series loses the counterbalance that once allowed its police investigations to breathe. Everything feels heavier and more serious, without gaining any real depth in return. The result is strangely flat.
Even the directing seems less inspired than in the first season. The framing, the way the main character is handled, and the overall direction give the series much less energy and dimension. The music, which was already sometimes poorly integrated in the first season, follows the same pattern, with certain jazzy tones feeling more pasted onto scenes than organically incorporated into them. Instead of giving the series a distinctive identity, they sometimes blur its tone.
And yet, there was so much potential between Ahn Bo Hyun and Jung Eun Chae to create a genuinely compelling dynamic. Their opposition could have become one of the driving forces of the season. They had everything they needed to form a lively duo, playing off their differences and gradually developing the particular kind of chemistry that is so noticeably missing here.
Ahn Bo Hyun has the kind of presence that could have turned this police drama into something much more distinctive. With such an expressive character, there was plenty of room for the touch of madness that could have allowed the investigations to breathe.
Instead, this second season seems to have forgotten what made its character distinctive in the first place. It simply needed to give him more space and allow the series to play with what was most alive about it.
