One of the best K drama

This drama started really slow. The ML is slow and shows no emotion in the beginning. But FL is so lively - this scenario is very typical in most Asian dramas.
I initially skipped the first 2 episodes, not understanding the purpose of the drama. But after the ML and FL formed an alliance to make the movie, the drama became so interesting to watch as the ML grows in his emotion and frees himself from the past and just live his life one day at a time.
The entire premise of this drama is that true love is worth everything that it demands of us. It makes life worth living even through the heartache of loving someone who is dying. It doesn't make sense but it's better to love and lost than to not love at all.
The writing is so good that as a parent, I totally empathize with the FL's father. As someone who had changed through the power of love (various forms of it), I can understand that love is everything: it hurts, it elevates, it is transformative. Without it, I am not complete. I was born to love and through it, I became a better person than I was before I found it.

The other aspect of this drama is the story of an undervalued person who is seemingly worthless because she is dying. Death doesn't define our quality, our dreams, and our story. Everyone deserves a chance to realize her dream regardless of her physical/emotional ability. We all can learn from each other. Never underestimate the quality of any human.

I also like the theme of redemption. Hey, everyone makes mistakes. We can all learn to forgive each other. Forgiveness allows us to collaborate and do great things.

I don't like sad stories. But some how this story is very elevating and enabling. Yes, I did shed some tears. But there was laughter too. There was a feeling of joy to understand that people die, but as long as we love, our lives are better through experiencing it truthfully and fearlessly.

People say that the last eps drag out for no purpose. I feel it does have a purpose: it allows me time to say goodbye to a beautiful love story. It's a soft landing. It enables me to feel that death is slow and not so terrible after all.

A Pleasant Tragedy

This drama was unexpectedly pleasant. When you start a show knowing that it is a k-trauma, you unconsciously prepare yourself for all the tears. You expect at least 3-4 major emotional breakdowns from the leads, coupled with multiple crying montages. Our movie didn’t give us any of that. Although the premise warns of immense sadness, the story is told in a way that the pain is more of an afterthought. Instead of bawling my eyes out, I was overwhelmed by a deep feeling of warmth. Our Movie tells a tragic story in a way that makes all the beautiful moments that much more precious. It is slow-paced and requires undivided attention to understand fully, BUT once you get to the core of their message, you won’t want to leave. This is one of those dramas where, if you are patient enough, the emotional payoff at the end is much deeper than a cliché rom-com. I may be a bit biased, given that I don’t watch a lot of melodramas, but this one was definitely worth my time.

From the beginning, Our Movie sets up a heartbreak that feels inevitable, yet you can’t help but watch, knowing it’s going to hurt. It’s a story that celebrates life, told from the perspective of someone who doesn’t have much time left but still chooses to make the remaining days meaningful. It reminds us how the little things we take for granted can mean the world to someone else. This is the kind of show that’s designed to stay with you; heartbreaking, soul-wrenching, and deeply human.

The writing is consistent and precise. The characters are crafted with care and stay true to themselves till the very end, never once feeling out of character. The relationships between the leads, feel authentic and lived-in. We know from the start that their love is doomed, but we still take that journey with them, smiling, laughing, and eventually crying as their story unfolds. The world of filmmaking within the drama is another highlight. It offers a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process; the struggles, teamwork, and quiet passion of the people who make movies. The relationships among the crew almost feel like a family, bound together by both their project and the looming tragedy. Every dynamic is thoughtfully written and executed.

Namkoong Min is exceptional, as always. He completely embodies his character; the cold, rational man who falls in love despite knowing it can only end in heartbreak. His portrayal feels raw and grounded. Jeon Yeo-been delivers a good performance, though I’ve seen stronger ones from her. It’s interesting because the terminally ill character usually has more opportunities to shine emotionally, yet Namkoong Min’s performance often outshines hers. She has powerful moments, but not all of them land as deeply as they could have.

I both love and hate the ending. I love that the male lead’s journey ends on a note of hope. For someone once cynical and closed off, it’s beautiful to see him move forward while keeping her memory alive. It’s poetic and bittersweet.

But I hate that the show doesn’t show the female lead’s death. The most memorable sad endings are the ones that allow us to say goodbye, to grieve with the characters. Our Movie builds toward that emotional release but never truly delivers it. By not showing her death, the ending feels slightly incomplete, less impactful than it could have been.

Another downside is the lack of realism. From casting a terminally ill woman as a movie lead to everyone agreeing to go along with it, and the doctors allowing her to continue, it stretches believability quite a bit. But then again, this isn’t the kind of story you watch to nitpick logic. Our Movie is meant to be felt, not analysed.

Despite its flaws, it’s a soulfully beautiful drama that leaves you with a deeper appreciation for life than you had when you started watching.

It would be a 10 without the romantic relationship

I went into this one with high hopes because I’m a sucker for sad stories and for the most part it delivered pretty well. The side characters, the cinematography, the OST, it was all a 9.5, but the moment the leads get together it got pretty boring, I was skipping through their scenes because I could not feel a chemistry between them, that is not to say that the main actors were doing a bad job; they were TERRIFIC (I dont think Jeon Yeo-been could act badly even if she tried) but something about their relationship just didn’t seem to land for me. I do understand that it was part of the MLs character development but I feel like we could’ve achieved it with a different approach - not every story has to be a love story.

9.0 cried my heart out the last 4 eps. I dont think this drama is for everyone, it is very slow burn, has a lot of awkward moments and silence. i understand that it can be boring or sometimes the lines feel like it wasnt real. but for me, it showed the genuinen of the people, how us human interact with each other. Lee Da Eum and Lee Je Ha were so beautifully written :'). I also love how there wasnt really a villain, that everyone was just human experiencing jealousy, grief, loss, happiness,... Lee Da Eum's will to live and dream made me realize the little voice somewhere deep inside me. :") messy review because could not stop crying.
this feels like a movie in a movie itself. the cinematography is phenomenal, the ost is heartbreaking. low rewatch value because i can not let myself go through the insane heart break that this kdrama leaves me. one of the best kdrama of 2025. thank you for letting me live another day, thank you for letting me see this kdrama

Now, as the series concludes on a hopeful note, the people who helped Le Ha and Da Eum make the movie possible created an emotionally compelling story that may live forever. Their actions help make this moment memorable for everyone. The episode opens with an emotional tone. Da Eum and Je Ha cherish their remaining time together, acutely aware that with the movie’s conclusion, their world will shift. As the end of filming approaches, excitement buzzes among the crew and Seoyeong.

The shooting of Love in White wraps up with lively celebrations and memories that will last a lifetime.
After filming ends, Je Ha and Da Eum plan a date to commemorate the joy and love the project brought them and others, especially Je Ha. Seyeong, meanwhile, returns to her old, vibrant self and embraces life fully. All the crew members feel the lasting impact of Da Eum’s cheerful spirit, even when she endured pain during filming.

The movie’s premiere happens, and, of course, Da Eum doesn’t get to see it. The movie turns out to be the best movie for the crew and Je Ha. Things go back to normal, and once again, Je Ha starts to see life in a new light. The episode ends with each member of the movie moving on and rekindling their lives to be like Da Eum. Before the last episode is shot, Da Eum says a special goodbye to all her close ones: her father, her best friends, and Le Ha.

A poetic heartbreak but still beautiful story.

I genuinely wish I could rate our movie more than the limit. To say this show was breathtaking is an understatement. Our movie truly moved me in a way that was surprisingly not unexpected since it was made clear from the beginning that Daeum would eventually pass away. Even while knowing this, we as viewers still decide to invest in this series simply because of the lead: Lee Daeum. She is just so full of life even when it hasn't been the nicest to her. Another thing about this series is that I found that there is simply no villain. Depending on your perspective, of course, you find that everyone has their own bad and good side, but that it just makes them human. Lastly, I genuinely don't think I could find the right and true words to describe entirely how this show made me feel, and as said in the show, "There's a warm moment at the end of every film, where it reads the names of everyone involved. Until that final moment arrives, movies, like life, race tirelessly toward the ending. And sometimes... Just when we think the ending is here, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙨."
