Jiu Er convinces Han Zheng to go with her and investigate the monthly meeting place of the four officials at the North Shuo dancing tavern. She finds yet another clue at North Shuo, indicating that things aren’t what they seem and that the murders may be a plot to destabilize the Qi and Qian relationship. After realizing her genuine sincerity, Han Zheng finally agrees to work with her in resolving the case, but his thoughts constantly return to his missing best friend, Mu Yan.
