mediocre rom com
For a webtoon remake I was expecting a lot better. The positive reviews online were so baffling to me as I just couldn’t enjoy it the way I wanted. This was the most anticipated rom-com of 2026. Perfectly cast leads with a lovely backdrop and a solid webtoon to go off on. What could possibly go wrong right? From the first episode there was a lot of telling rather than showing. The characters were very undercooked and the leads didn’t have those scenes that got me giddy with excitement. As the episodes kept going I finally accepted that this show wasn’t going to get any better and I had to accept it for what it was. Lazy romance writing with comedy that felt stale all thanks to the directing and music choices in some scenes. sigh.. the potential for what this could have been hurts more than anything.Was this review helpful to you?

Cliche' Kdrama, But Just Adorable
If you go into this knowing it's going to be the normal Kdrama with all the memes and cliche's, it's easier to watch. The characters are over the top especially Ah Bo Hyun's Jae Gyu. What I liked about this drama was that even though the characters were exaggerated, none were really annoying. They were likable, cute, and funny. The story line flowed enough to keep me tuned in until the end.Nothing surprising, amazing, nor earth-shattering here. Just Kdrama cuteness at its best.

Not gonna lie, the 2nd ML was a little odd. He wasn’t really there for romance, more because of his friend drama with the ML. Not much of a love triangle vibe here.

I really didn’t care for them. She treated him poorly most of the time, to the point he made dumb choices (like bombing exams) just to please her. He also didn’t seem grateful to his uncle, who literally gave up a lot for him.

good drama
The drama is light and pleasant. I loved the atmosphere, the locations, and the nature. I also loved the relationship between the male lead and his nephew, as well as the relationship between the nephew and his friend. The lawyer’s personality is a bit annoying at first, but she becomes likable later on.The drama is somewhat good, but like any romantic-comedy series, it’s pretty typical. What really kept me watching was the relationship between the uncle and his nephew.The female lead’s character is nice, but she’s a bit cold at times. The male lead’s character is good, but a little too strong or exaggerated. I like the actor and his acting, though.I loved their accent and the beautiful scenery, and of course, the cinematography is really good.And honestly, I really liked Philip’s character 🤣🤣 I felt like he has a bit of charisma.the drama was good as romantic comdey drama ..Was this review helpful to you?
Worth a one-time watch if you are in the mood for it
I just finished this show and I kinda like it. I watched it all fast and back to back cause it don’t have anything that engaging (in a good way) there are no complicated plots and plot twists, there are no love triangle or stuff like that. Just couples that like each other and have fun together And help each other through life. It’s not an outstanding show that you watch and say wow. But it’s a show that you will definitely enjoy if you just want to watch something lovey dovey. I would recommend the show to be watched if you are in the mood of something that you turn your brain off and watchOverally I liked the show and imo it worth a one time in a correct time. Objectively I’ll give it 7/10 but subjectively I’ll give it 8/10 because of the romance the whole story in general

Sometimes all you want is the fluffiest rom-com!
For a slice of life, small town, rom-com, this show had a stellar set of cast that pulled the fun storyline together.The main couple were just adorable together - ML was the greenest forest you could ever ask for. Though, I was slightly perplexed at times when he was made out to be not quite human, having super strength. He as just an averaged sized guy - totally human, and not fearsome, yet everyone was afraid of him!
I went in for the rom-com, mostly for a palette cleanser, and I've had this show on my watch list for a while, but I stayed for the lol moments, the sweet moments, the character growth, the 2ML, who had more face card than than ML (only in my opinion) the cute nephew, and the adorable doggo.
A definite watch if you want something not heavy and all fluffy. :)

An Appetizer Drama for the new, weary and/or desperate
Is it an amazing, revolutionary, incomparable, extraordinary drama? No.But, it never tries to be, either. From the first episode, it is shallow, silly, romcom, little stakes, too much dumbass-ery and way too obvious PPL--like in the middle of an emotional moment, our leads suddenly start raving about the taste of this Subway sandwich they are eating and I'm just like ???? were we not crying just now????
Because it doesn't try to be great, it does well in being average. If you are new to kdrama, if you are recovering form something heavy and emotional, if you are missing the early 00's cringe factor, if you have nothing else going on--this is the answer.
If you want a masterpiece, I suggest you keep searching somewhere else.
My one issue with the drama, the only one I want to highlight, is that writers need to stop putting in traumas if they are not going to give it the proper resolution it deserves--even if its a silly drama emotional payoff is necessary for the viewers and here we had none of it. All the delicious angst was missing :/

A hopelessly tangled spring romance has begun!
If you don't have time to read the whole thing, skip to the end where the conclusions are :)Spring Fever introduces us to Yoon Bom, who, after a bad experience in Seoul, leaves the capital and begins teaching at a small rural high school, Shinsu High School, where she initially appears cold and distant. But when she meets Seon Jae-gyu, she rediscovers her joy and tries to open her heart again.
The drama presents a plot I'd never seen before. As far as I know, I'm not familiar with any drama quite like it: a teacher embroiled in a scandal moves to a rural town. While it might seem similar to a few others, I hadn't seen it exactly like this. It's a very light romantic comedy, and you could say it's fun, although I found it a bit boring since I watched it to have more dramas this year. I can't say it was bad, though. Looking back now, I can actually say I liked it. The comedic situations were funny, and the romance was very well done, as were their sad pasts mixed with family situations. So, overall, I'd give the story an 8/10. It was good.
The drama uses a wide variety of characters typical of a rural town, which makes it less boring, as it shows us several relationships. One I particularly liked was that of Han-gyeol and Se-jin; they had excellent chemistry, as did our protagonists. They look beautiful together.
Here is my analysis of the main characters:
Seon Jae-gyu (Ahn Bo-hyun): The CEO of JK Power Energy. He is a strong and muscular man, and can often intimidate others, which has led to numerous misunderstandings.
Ahn Bo-hyun fit this character very well. He really looks tough and intimidating, but he conveys the warmth of his heart. I also enjoyed all the comedic situations his character creates; they were very entertaining. So I must say he did an excellent job here.
Yoon Bom (Lee Joo-bin): A philosophy teacher at Shinsu High School. She used to be outgoing and sociable, drawing attention with her lively conversation; her appearance was striking as well. Later, due to personal experiences, she gradually became withdrawn, actively distancing herself from others and choosing a discreet life.
Lee Joo-bin did an excellent job portraying the two sides of her character: initially cold and reserved because of her past, but slowly opening her heart. His performance was very good.
Overall, I give the acting a 9/10—a good job.
The OST is very good, I must say. Among my favorites are "Running Flower" and "You Are Spring"—they're so energetic. Overall, I give it an 8.5/10.
Would I watch it again? I feel like I should give it a second chance and watch it for enjoyment, not out of obligation. So I'll try to watch it with someone this time, since I liked its light comedy. So I'll give it a 7.0/10.
In short, Spring Fever is a drama that mixes comedic situations with intense romance, chaotic family situations, and themes of healing and overcoming problems. If you're looking for a light and comedic series, I give it an 8/10. They did a good job.

No nonsense entertainment
No nonsense entertainment. That's exactly what you get. Are you annoyed when a moderately good or surprisingly great drama fast pitches a mud pie of nonsense to your face and you're left asking, "what did I do to deserve this?"Well, you're not gonna get that here.
The show is cozy. It's uplifting. It is a well wrapped gift; pleasant exterior and confidently hinting that something worthwhile is inside. The script has great story progression. The writers don't try too much or too little. You're likely to root for 5 various characters. This is an ensemble cast and they're worth it. Plenty of laughable moments (depending on your laugh tolerance). You probably won't yell or cry with the characters but that's ok.
Is the show perfect? No, it has its flaws. But these flaws are very forgivable.
I love latching onto small moments from TV shows. Sure, we all praise the dramatic deaths or the romantic grand gestures but, chuckling at a expressive character, who improvs a reaction - believing the audience "is not gonna see it"... (but I do)... - is the ideal show watching experience for me. Small moments provide a more personal testimony to my viewing. How did a character double-take? Or how was an object comically passed from friend to friend? Spring Fever was full of small yet memorable moments.
I loved it. Simple it may be. But a treat for the "Happily Ever After" Fans.

Forget the harsh cold Winter and blossom in the warmth of Spring!
A drama that gave what it promised, a time full of laughter, warmth and happiness. That's what Spring Fever was all about!**Before diving into this drama, you need to understand that this is a silly romcom that doesn't need you to seriously "think" about the situations. You watch and don't judge.
Spring Fever tells the story of a small town where Yoon Bom, the homeroom teacher of Seon Han Gyeol, finds herself in odd situations with his uncle Seon Jae Gyu. Despite their rough first impression, both of them got attracted to each other because of their unexpected charm, unwavering devotion, and a deep consideration for others.
It was very simple, story wise, but it was the chemistry and chaotic perspective of such scenarios and how differently they handled everything made it more funny. All the actors, including the leads and the supporting characters, were fabulous. They made every antic light and fun to watch. But only one thing, I didn't like the nephew and his crush. Everytime they met, I found myself rolling my eyes and an strong urge to skip their scenes. NGL they were annoying me for several reasons so I had to skip some of their scenes (I know they are teenagers and immature but still). Bom Sik, the lil doggo is the star of the show. Loved how he adopted two humans instantly on spot, who'd fight for him, literally lol.
The shooting destination was Pochang village and the cinematography of the blissful serene life was beautifully shot. The OSTs added a layer of happy bubbles to the characters and the situations, which made it even more lighthearted.
Personally, it was a stress-buster drama for me. It doesn't require the brain to think. You watch, you enjoy and be illogical. Don't over-complicate this thinking about the logic and reasons. There was not a single episode which was boring or something you want to skip. It was silly, fluffy and funny as hell throughout and I loved it because of that!
Overall, if you are looking for something light, fun and not overly complicated then this is the drama that can lift your mood in an instant.
P.S: 8 for the whole drama and +0.5 for Ahn Bo Hyun for being extra hottie 🙈❤️🔥

A Simple and Comforting Watch
I started Spring fever without very high expectations, but as the episodes progressed, the drama slowly drew me in with its calm atmosphere and emotional sincerity. This is not a drama that tries to grab attention with shocking twists or intense conflicts. Instead, it focuses on healing, everyday life, and the quiet development of relationships, which made the experience feel warm and realistic.The story unfolds in a small seaside town, and that setting plays an important role in the overall mood of the drama. The peaceful environment, combined with soft cinematography, creates a comforting feeling that matches the characters’ emotional journeys. Watching the drama often felt like taking a break from noise and stress, which is something I really appreciated.
Ahn Bo-hyun’s character stands out with his straightforward and expressive personality. He brings both humor and emotional depth, making the character feel genuine rather than exaggerated. Lee Joo-bin delivers a subtle and restrained performance as someone who has been hurt in the past and is cautious about opening up again. Her emotional growth is portrayed in a very natural way, without dramatic outbursts, which made it easy to connect with her character.
The romance develops slowly, but it never felt completely empty to me. Small conversations, shared moments, and gradual emotional changes build the relationship in a believable way. Charming, entertaining and yet so heartfelt
Before I'll start with the actual review, I'd like to give some context about me: I've never been a huge fan of romance-focused stories. Romance is not a genre I dislike but I wasn't the biggest fan either. Before I got into kdramas, I was aware of the popularity of their romance stories.I'm gonna be very direct. For years, I had developed a dislike for the tropes and the way they were presented. Slow motion sequences, "under the umbrella" scenes, miscommunication, awkward flirting...Every time I would stumble across clips like these, I would cringe and wonder how could people enjoy that. I couldn't imagine myself indulging in a story with this structure. I thought that the kdrama style wasn't for me and for years, I kept avoiding them.
Well, here I am now, in the year of 2026 to report that I am a changed person.
Spring Fever is the first romcom I've watched. I have watched other romantic stories like Yuri On Ice, Heartstopper, Pride and Prejudice and Emma but none of them had this slapstick, romcom style. It was a spontaneous decision to pick up this drama. I had seen the posters and the teasers and since it seemed lighthearted, I thought that it wouldn't harm me if I gave it a try. I debated about it since it was very out of my league but in the end, I gave in. And oh boy, did it pay off!
Spring Fever is exactly what its name indicates. It was a very cozy drama and with every single episode, the story kept blooming. Even though I prefer dramas which delve deeper in terms of themes and characterisation, I was very relieved to see that Spring Fever didn't lose its identity throughout its run. It obviously included some emotional heavier scenes of course and it tackled some important issues but not at the expense of its initial style.
The writers did a great job handling the different plot points together. While the main couple, Yoon Bom and Seon Jae Gyu were undoubtedly the heart of the story, it was nice to see them shine on their own or have the opportunity to observe other characters, too. For the most past, the pacing of the drama was very good and it contributed to the overall development of the story and the characters.
The majority of the subplots were entertaining to watch. I became invested in the teachers' drama and the relationship between I Jun and Jae Gyu. I was rooting very hard for Bom to prove her innocence and I was eager to learn more about Jae Gyu's past. The various subplots enhanced the slice-of-life aspect and by making other characters the center of attention, we saw more of their community and emotions as individuals. The romance was always the main point but it was nice to see that there were other significant moments, too.
While the comedy was never absent, I appreciated the more laid-back and emotional moments, especially during the last episodes. Spring Fever tackled some serious themes and it was nice to see that the writers treated them with respect instead of forcing a joke in inappropriate moments. During episode 11, there were some scenes which unexpectedly made me shed some tears and I liked how the writers let their characters be vulnerable when needed instead of minimizing their pain.
One thing I must praise Spring Fever for is the cinematography and editing. There were various breathtaking and relaxing shots from the countryside, the director did a fantastic job capturing the beauty of Sinsu. The color grading was absolutely perfect. The vibrant hues enhanced the positive tone of the story, making the story even more "colorful". Even during the night scenes, the colours were so vivid!
Spring Fever was the perfect type of story to accompany me during my university exams period. After long studying sessions, I was always looking forward to relax and watch the new episodes in peace. I was giggling like a lovesick teenager while watching Bom and Jae Gyu's shenanigans and many scenes made me burst out laughing. The comedic elements were incorporated very well and they didn't feel forced, as I initially feared. There are some scenes which I'm thinking about and still make me laugh.
Bom and Jae Gyu were so interesting as individuals and later as a couple. Their relationship developed organically and their interactions were so fun to watch. Their personalities were so different and yet they complimented each other so much. There were many moments which made me squeal from happiness and throughout the drama, I couldn't get enough of them.
Both Bom and Jae Gyu had to fight their own demons which they tried to hide under their masks. Both of them tried to find shelter by bottling up their feelings. Bom, after experiencing injustice and betrayal from her parents, became colder and less enthusiastic while Jae Gyu, haunted by his past, put up the facade of an energetic citizen, who had nothing to worry about. It was so beautiful to see that the closer they got to each other, the more the walls that they had built around themselves started to shatter.
I'm very thankful that the writers put no unnecessary misunderstandings between Bom and Jae Gyu! Even though there were some minor problems here and there, they always solved them very quickly and once they became an official couple, they communicated with each other and opened up more. Trust and communication are vital for a healthy relationship and Spring Fever made sure to make its message clear. In addition, it was so refreshing to see both Bom and Jae Gyu be there for each other. The first half focused more on Jae Gyu helping Bom around while the latter half showed Bom supporting Jae Gyu more, which was so important for their growth as a couple. They understood each other and they gave each other space when necessary while still being close. I already miss them as I'm typing this!
Both actors did an excellent job bringing their characters to life, not to mention the amazing chemistry they had. Lee Joo Bin was so engaging to watch, I loved the way she used her facial expressions to express Bom's emotions, particularly when she was surprised. She really shined in this role and she highlighted Bom's complexity. The same applies to Ahn Bo Hyun, he nailed both the comedic and emotional aspects of Jae Gyu's character, unveiling his characters' layers. Furthermore, he was effortlessly funny while portraying Jae Gyu's shenanigans and he never came across as cringe.
Although I had an amazing time watching Spring Fever, there were some parts that could have been better in order to improve the story even more. It would have been nice if the psychological aspect of the characters had been written in even more depth throughout the episodes. Not something very bleak but not very superficial either. The last episodes did a great job with this subject, particularly when it came to Jae Gyu's feelings, so I think that this could have happened in the earlier episodes too.
The story as a whole remained charming and very engaging but there were times where I felt my attention wandered. There were some scenes that felt more filler and while they were by no means bad, I think that they could have been reduced in order to highlight other aspects of the plot.
Even though I warmed up to Han Gyul and Se Jin's subplot, I must admit that I wasn't fully invested in it. I totally understand that it's a classic teenage love story but their initial relationship of Han Gyul acting like a lovesick puppy while Se Jin mistreated him wasn't that fun to watch. Se Jin's character had potential for more given the pressure she experienced from her parents to do great at school. I really appreciated her development but her character could have been handled better and her change of attitude could have been more natural.
Overall, Spring Fever was a very charming and cozy series, one I definitely do not regret watching. I'm so happy for this being my introduction to the romcom genre and I feel so proud of myself after expanding my taste. Bom and Jae Gyu will continue to accompany me and I can totally see myself rewatching the drama in the future if I'm in need for something sweet and comforting. I strongly recommend it to people who want a nice romcom. It might not be a masterpiece but it will definitely make you bloom.
