HongHong has deduced the most likely one behind the darkness. Somehow ShiJi got a bit of her essence into HongHong before the final blow. That drunkard old fox is a pain in the arse. He tried to sacrifice YueChu. But, had he been successful, the darkness would have been successfully defeated and the story much shorter. HongHong has come up with a solution to save YueChu’s life but the result is her life entwined with the tree. They will live and die together. None of the foxes think it is a wise choice but she is determined to go through with it. The old drunkard reveals the plan to YueChu. ShiJi has now been alerted that her plan was almost thwarted so she will quicken the pace to get her way first.
