A great way to start this anthology series

The earth being the story of Din and Rose falling in love, both of them being farm owners, their love being one full of protectiveness. I really liked how everything was setup.

We started the story well, giving good backstories and setting up conflicts well. Din and Rose reuniting after all those years was sweet. The way Din didn't force Rose to stay with her even though Rose's father gave Din the responsibility and Rose chose Din by seeing how loyal she was....all of this was perfect. Their fake marriage setup was also good. It lost me after that point onwards.

We see them play a bit of a jealousy game and then finally confessing their feelings but it didn't hit for me. I can understand why Rose would fall for Din, she was so protective and attentive to her every need and did everything to make her comfortable, but why does Din like Rose?? We never get to see them have a more deeper convo or bond. Most of their convos were 'Sorry u stuck protecting me, thank u for saving me'-'Ofc i will protect u, tell me anything u need'. They kind of suddenly shift personalities after their confessions. The Din who made sure she had consent for every single thing just kisses Rose when she drunk out of her mind? Din who was so shy is suddenly very confident everywhere?? I wish Rose was a bit more developed as a character.

Their breakup/break in the last ep didn't make any sense either. Rose didn't show any discomfort in the fact that her father gave Din the responsibility to look after her but she wants to break up cause that responsibility is not there anymore? Din never made it look like it was a burden but the way Rose talked gave a different vibe. I don't understand why they couldn't stay together and talk on the phone like long distance couples do in 2026. They didn't even use the break to get to know each other more, they just got married the instant they saw each other again.

The tone shift of the series was a bit drastic too. All the scenes with Din-Rose were romantic, cute, playful and very sweet and then suddenly we have Wasu with their dark, sinister evil plans and sex trafficking. I felt like I was more tensed about having such evil ppl walk free than these ppl who lived next to him. I couldn't even enjoy the cute moments that much cause deep down i was scared that Wasu and his gang will pop up any moment to assault them. Maybe they could have toned down them a bit and made it a purely land conflict/legal thing.

My fave part was the cousins. I love how they were all integrated into the story and we get to see their personalities shine. All of their interactions added so much to the story. I'm surprised that Water is the next one to air, given that we don't see Nam too much here.

I'm excited for the rest of the stories and to see Din in the future

An inbalanced and undercooked meal, nonetheless a meal.

We‘re going straight into it

The inbalanced and undercooked parts:
This series had a lot of room for questions to form in my head:
— What was Rose doing while Din was at work? Just waiting? Or is she doing something at her farm? She‘s the heiress to the farm but doing absolutely nothing to become the actual successor. Din shouldn‘t be able to be around as much when she said she‘d take care of Thip‘s farm next to hers. That is an enormous amount of extra work.
— And who is Rose as a person? All I know about her is that she loves her family and Din. That‘s her whole life‘s driving force it seems. She studied abroad but we already forgot about that in episode 1. Rose felt very underdeveloped and as if she‘s only there to be reacting to what is happening and barely ever taking action on her own.
Seeing the childhood flashbacks she seems to have been raised to become a wifey that needs to be taken care of not the successor of the farm. And that also seems to be her goal. Nothing else seems to be important to her. Not even her fathers farm. 

— Din, too, felt a little like a confused character and I don’t just mean her gay panic. She also only has a few things that are her driving forces: managing her farm, caring about Rose’s father and disliking Wasu. The new thing „falling in love with Rose“ really throws her off.
— the character establishing and developing fell a little short. For example: after child Din felt sad that she couldn‘t lift Rose up when she got hurt I would‘ve loved to see a scene where she‘s working out/lifting weights as an adult. A simple scene but a connection that‘d make sense and not take up that much space. What I try to say with that is that there‘s almost no difference between childhood Rose, Wasu, Din and their adult selves. It makes the characters even more stagnant.
— pretty much every character felt like they were standing still until the plot moved them forward. Din completely forgot about the human trafficking once her gay panic got set off. And she doesn‘t need to do anything because the evil guys are also kinda inactive once they are not on screen anymore and for such a serious topic as human trafficking it was a little underwhelming how they worked with it. There were so many women on the farms… what if they become a target? How easy would it be for Wasu and Wasupol to make them disappear? Was that their goal for Rose as well? Once Wasu managed to marry her she‘d vanish?
— every time Din and Rose talked about their marriage being fake and they were outdoors, near other people or even AT THEIR WEDDING I internally screamed at them to shut up and go to a more secure place. Plus knowing there‘s a mole that tells Wasu everything… why didn‘t more things happen?
— I full on expected some kind of sabotage attempt at their first wedding. Not just Wasu being there and being annoying. I don‘t believe that Wasu and his father are that simple in their actions. There was a fire on Din‘s farm… yeah, but that also just happened once and could be the result of a dry period. So, was it really Wasu?
— Assistant Kaew… I didn’t like how her arc unfolded… At first I did not see any possible one sided love from her except for one look. So I got the impression that this is just to show the blooming jealousy from Rose so there’s a reason for her and Din to get closer for real. Her character is portrayed very timid and backgroundish… then we get heinous thoughts and actions just for her to get a character reset at the end. WHAT. It feels like her arc got developed as they were filming à la: „Rose is just jealous in this scene but what if Kaew is really in love with Din? That would be more interesting and mean a ‚real‘ threat“ - „then it would make sense for her to end up being a spy for Wasu because she‘s actually super jealous and gets mad, so much so she would commit crimes“ - „But wouldn‘t that be too much? She’s a good person and actually didn‘t want any of that“ - „Yeah you‘re right. Din will forgive her at the end then.“ (dialogue freely invented)
I know this is in the lane of a Lakhon series where there‘s a happy ending for everyone but the bad guys so I can‘t really agree here that she gets a pretty happy ending for what she was willing to do. I guess it was done à la the mindset of Moddang: „She‘s too pretty to be a bad person“ (and even when she did something bad she deserves forgiveness because she‘s pretty.)
— I haven‘t even talked about the acting and directing/editing yet. The emotional parts were well acted but some of the calmer moments were eh. Some scenes felt a little too long and sometimes I wished for a different angle or background music.

In conclusion:
the topics of the story (human trafficking versus gay panic to bliss) felt at odds/out of balance. And (mainly) the lead characters felt undercooked and bland.

But all that being said I still enjoyed my time with the series and also have things that I loove about it:

— I loved their flirtatious dialogue. That scene when they pick the wedding dress… And the bedroom talk had me blushing. And the kisses? mmmh.
— loved the wardrobe. When Rose had that jealousy-off drinking with the other person also wearing a dress with roses.
— stacked cast. All the actors for the fathers I have seen before. And the children were adorable.
— I really enjoyed the cousins. Lam the sniper cop with the 100% accuracy. Love. And Fai as well. Once those two entered the scene they easily overshadowed the main two just with their presence and that is not what you want for the leads…
— The locations of the farms looked great. The houses looked so chill and cosy, big but not city rich big. they had some farm charm.
— hooooly, the OST is beautiful. The voices… heavenly.
— that it is the beginning to an GL anthology. Very excited to continue and then return.

I will rewatch the series once I‘ve seen the rest of the element anthology because I feel like I was thinking a little too much and took it a tad too serious while watching. <- also because it seems to be Lakhon(-esque) and I need to get that into my head before rewatching. And after getting more into the vibe of the anthology I see the possibility of changing my opinions. But I don’t see what I’ve pointed out here as a waste. And to me it‘s always interesting to see how my opinions and perceptions change with time and a rewatch and reading some other people‘s opinions. :)

I Came to Judge, I Stayed for the Chaos

At first, after Episode 1, I was like… oh no, not another flop please
But then I forced myself to watch Episode 2 and suddenly I was like… wait a damn minute, let me not judge too fast 👀
Maybe Mim’s beauty helped me stay, I’m not even gonna lie but after that, the series actually started getting more interesting and enjoyable.

One thing I have to give them credit for: the comedy and the reactions are SO fun to watch some scenes really had me entertained, and that’s honestly what made me keep going. The vibe started getting better and the story became easier to enjoy.

Now let me be honest for a second — Din’s creepy smile needed to be toned down by at least 70% because girl sometimes she’s just there smiling like she already won the love war or she's visualzing her next murder scenes in her head.
And with Apple… I know she has the potential, so I was expecting a bit more. But honestly, I also feel like maybe the direction didn’t fully help her show what she’s capable of. Because I’ve seen more from her before.

Also, I need GL productions to understand something very important:
… not every series needs to throw in extra love scenes just because they can 👀
If the actors still look shy or not fully natural doing them, then sometimes it’s better to keep it short, sweet, and effective instead of making it longer than necessary. A little intimacy can still hit hard without overdoing it.

And please Din should’ve borrowed some fighting lessons from Lom because if you’re gonna protect your queen, then baby, you need to come prepared. To be honest she wasn't, having a gun and 3 cousins doesn't make you a protector, and girl I had to look away when Wasu push her away like it was a piece of plastic 🤦‍♀️

Overall, I’m actually glad I kept watching because the series really grew on me. It’s not perfect, but it became way more fun and lovable than I expected. And I have to say it loud that they are my favorite quartet

Asian Drama on Filial Bonds at its Very Best

If there's one thing remarkable about the story of 4 ELEMENTS - apart from the romantic arcs of each of the leads - it's the amazing bond among the four cousins, especially between the two youngest ones, Lom and Fai. The two older ones have the onus of responsibility resting upon their shoulders - Din runs the farm like clockwork, Nam is poised to transition from little boss to become the big boss of hotels and resorts, but Lom and Fai get to do fun "stuff" that come with the recklessness of youthful abandon. Yet the bonds among these four cousins are so palpable, they're even thicker than sibling bonds - They'd give their lives for each other in a heartbeat! THAT is what makes 4 ELEMENTS not just a star-studded sapphic extravaganza, but also a touching family drama.

4 ELEMENTS is like a Disney fairy tale turned live action movie turned Asian adaptation.... Thailand for the win! The world sends its appreciation.

So yeah first of all to those people who says that this series is bad probably doesn't even know the quality of this series, their probably watching it blindly. Acting was good but not to the top, cinematography was good. I'm actually impressed that more and more GL this year improved when it comes to the cinematography. The only thing that I probably didn't like was the amount of green screen 😭. I mean not a lot of honestly but it's one of the things that you'll find disappointing in this series. It's slow burn burn which is good I like that. But yeah overall this first series form the mega project was good. Waiting for the Fire cause air is airing

Before posting my opinion about the first episode, I have to point that EVERYONE should read the book first. There are four books for each element, all of the four books are amazing and of course, if you read it first, you'll have a better experience.
Now, talking about the episode. The adaptation is faithful to what I imagined while reading the novel, the chemistry between Apple and Mim is the best, all of the actors played it really well and I'm craving for more!
The farm's environment is quite different (of course lol) of what I have here in Brazil, but it is so suitable that all I cant think is: Perfect! North Star did it perfectly well.

Un rythme incroyable pour une introduction de 4 Elements triomphale

The Earth s’impose immédiatement comme l’une des meilleures productions GL de 2026, et sans doute comme un pilier majeur de la quadrilogie 4 Elements. Avec une écriture soignée, une romance profondément incarnée et une réalisation maîtrisée, la série parvient à équilibrer tension dramatique et douceur émotionnelle avec une justesse remarquable.

L’histoire de Din et Rose repose sur une base classique (mariage arrangé, ennemis, protection), mais elle est sublimée par une exécution intelligente et nuancée :
- Une progression naturelle de la relation, sans précipitation
- Des conflits logiques et cohérents, jamais forcés
- Une gestion des enjeux (trafic humain, corruption, famille) bien intégrée à la romance
- Une communication globalement saine (ce qui est rare dans le genre)
Mention spéciale pour :
- Le break émotionnel en fin de série, qui est douloureux mais parfaitement justifié
- La résolution qui respecte les personnages sans tomber dans la facilité

Apple (Din) et Mim (Rose) livrent des performances exceptionnelles. Leur alchimie est indéniable et constitue le cœur de la série.
Mim
-Très expressive, elle incarne parfaitement la vulnérabilité, la jalousie et les doutes
- Elle porte toute la dimension émotionnelle du couple
- Capable de passer du teasing au drame avec fluidité
Apple
- Jeu plus subtil, basé sur la retenue et les micro-expressions
- Excellente dans les scènes silencieuses et les conflits internes
- Son évolution émotionnelle est crédible et progressive

En plus de cela, il faut également noter une production 5 étoile avec une réalisation propre et immersive, une OST parfaitement utilisée (notamment dans les scènes de tension et romance) et de très belles photographies (fermes, nature, scènes nocturnes)

En bref, The Earth n’est pas juste une romance. C’est une histoire sur deux personnes qui apprennent à s’aimer correctement.

Único romance de infância possível!

Estava bem ansiosa por esse, na verdade, por todos da saga 4 elementos, e achei que ia ter outra pegada quando comecei a assistir, mas a série é basicamente romance.

A história é bem fechada, não tem lacunas, a relação delas é muito linda, e é único romance que surgiu na infância que eu aceito KKKKKK lindas, lindas, ótima química!!! Todo o elenco atuou bem e o final foi satisfatório.
Únicos dois pontos que eu achei que podiam ser melhores: a trama do crimes da família do Wasu poderia ter tido mais tempo de tela/desenvolvimento, acho que ia dar outra cor pro drama e deixar ele mais interessante. A resolução foi muito corrida mesmo. E a fotografia, que achei um tanto "monoton" se assim posso dizer. A edição de som tambem achei meio deslocada em certos momentos. Nem som, nem fotografia eles usaram pra ajudar a dar enfasê na trama.

Mas o drama é ótimo, eu classificaria ele como drama conforto, bem açucarado haha
