Believing Fu Wei has died, Zhou Ruo Xi decides to assume her identity and marry Li Shu, convinced that becoming crown princess is the only way to change her fate. However, Fu Wei survives the attack and rushes back to Qingzhou to stop the wedding. On the wedding day, Li Yan storms in to abduct the bride, believing she is Fu Wei. When Zhou Ruo Xi rejects him and fails to recognize the golden osmanthus sachet, Li Yan realizes he has taken the wrong person. By the time Fu Wei reaches the capital, Zhou Ruo Xi has already entered the Eastern Palace. Exhausted, Fu Wei collapses into Li Yan's arms. A physician reveals that Fu Wei is surviving only through sheer determination and has little time left. With nothing left to hide, Fu Wei finally tells Li Yan that she is Zhou Ruo Xi from three years in the future and that, despite her efforts, fate has led them back to the same tragic path.
