As a result of Zifu’s erratic behaviour, Empress Wang orders her daughters to be taken away. When Zifu goes missing, Duan Hong implores Liu Che to investigate. They find Zifu just in time before she commits suicide. Chen Jiao leads the other concubines to visit Zifu, but Duan Hong and Wei Qing have their suspicions. Wei Qing blames Liu Che for not caring if Zifu lived or died, but Liu Che fears a greater conspiracy at hand. By spending time with Chen Jiao and having Zifu sent away, he lulls the culprit to a false sense of security while obtaining evidence for the investigation. Unfortunately, the culprit has escaped without a trace and Zifu’s state has gone from bad to worse. (Source: Viu)
