Dressed in black, Duan Hong returns to his room at Huainan Palace and is surprised to find Liji there. He hears that Liu An’s son Liu Qian is searching for a black-clothed person and hurriedly goes to change. Liu Qian breaks into Duan Hong’s room, and leaves in embarrassment after finding Liji undressed in bed. Wang Yan gives birth to a son, Liu Hong and is bestowed the title Consort. Liu An gathers his troops, but Duan Hong stops him by way of an imperial decree and seal. With Liu Qian’s death and the betrayal of his grandson and subordinates, Liu An refuses to surrender and commits suicide. Duan Hong finally avenges the death of Dou Ying and Guan Fu.
