The letter cheers Wei Qing up; he comes up with a new strategy using heavy-armoured chariots. Duan Hong escorts Shen Jia’s remains back to Chang’an for the funeral. Zhang Tang points out Yihan as a fugitive, to which he pleads guilty. Zifu and Duan Hong visit him in prison, and she decides to defend him. This is another of Yuan Shu’s plans to drive a wedge between Zifu and Liu Che, who is anxious about the war. Zifu lists both Yihan’s crimes and merits before the imperial court. Liu Che understands her intentions, but his hands are tied due to the law. The palace receives news of Wei Qing’s victory, and Liu Che immediately issues a pardon for Yihan. Yuan Shu’s schemes have failed once again, and he decides to leave Chang’an. Noticing Yuan Shu’s absence, Wang Yan decides to take matters into her own hands. (Source: Viu)
