Spooky, not so much, but extremely fun
Obviously the show is ongoing, so my review may change later, but I'm enjoying it so much I wanted to comment in the meantime.There are a lot of great series involving ghosts, and I wouldn't say that Spooky in Love is groundbreaking from the supernatural perspective. But what really makes it work is the chemistry, especially between Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong, but also the excellent supporting cast. You can tell this was a fun show to work on.
I just finished episode 6, and while I guessed how it was going to conclude, that actually made me much happier than if it had gone a different direction. It was perfect.

I am excited for this new Kdrama
I don't care if people will not agree with me. I am not a professional kdrama watcher. I just choose what I watch. But I soooo love this Spooky in Love. Great acting from both ML and FL. As well as the support cast.It will make you laugh, amazed, get scared and be excited for the love that is brewing. I like both actors playing in the lead, very likeable and as I have said very great actors.
It gets more exciting as the episodes unfold. Fingers crossed--- I oray it will deliver til the last episode.

Not a detective style drama
Let me clarify, this is not an investigative style drama involving ghosts. So if you are looking for this type of drama, this is not it. If you are ready for a wild ride filled with romance and ghosts, then this is your drama.Summary: After a failed marriage attempt which would have solidified her position as CEO of the luxurious Reina Hotel and Siena wedding venue, CEO Cheon Yeo Ri fights to keep her position and inheritance from her aunt and cousins. Yeo Ri's fatal flaw, after nearly drowning in a yachting accident, she can see ghosts and even make others see them. Even though the aunt and cousin know this, Yeo Ri has been through an exorcism where the shaman has declared her ghost free. After the exorcism, Yeo Ri hides the fact that she can still see ghosts. Because of her condition, Yeo Ri decides to live alone in her family's isolated home outside the city. And after working hours, she takes up the hobby of tipping off the police on where they can find dead bodies. One night while confirming a ghost's story, she runs into Prosecutor Ma Gang uk and the fun ensues as they navigate their way through the living and the dead to find true happiness and love. In the end, will her fatal flaw be her protection or her downfall?
This drama is based on the movie Spellbound. You can watch it for free on Tubi. The screenwriters did an excellent job of embracing the spirit and essence of the movie in this drama. They even take some of the scenes, dialogue, and props and use them in fresh ways to make the story more fluid and dynamic. So I must commend the writers for that.
Pitfalls so far: Commenters have had a field day when one of our heroes makes a dramatic come back after being hit by a car. Also, one of our heroes drinks lots of alcohol while having a condition in which the hero really shouldn't be doing that. So realism is not a factor here. The drama has also had some editing issues causing some blunt transitions from one scene to another. It only detracts from the story for a brief time and then it gets back on track. But it does confuse the viewer as to what is happening. For me, while interested to see what happens, the writers use some romcom tropes in particular with second leads.
Despite its comedy, this is a mature drama. Even the bathroom humor, which is a Korean trope in itself, is very mature.
So I repeat this is not an investigative style drama. It is a drama that uses ghosts to help our two heroes fall in love.

ROMCOM, HORROR, The love will win over Ghost
The story Till now running it's catching my attention and the preview of 7 th episode is also interesting 5th 6th episodes are like puzzles will solve surely in 7,8 episodeBoth Main lead doing good both have a perfect grip on story and the ghost part 😁 if you don't see one you will not feel satisfied. They are with full of story in 6 th episode it's about ancient era the FL have a responsibility to helping ghost for survival if anyone comes in her touch will see the ghost his Ex BF was okay with but it ends badly 😔
Then comes our Male Lead who is winning over them now they will get engaged both are not expressing but they have feelings SML lead is also caring and everything but I think there is some thing suspicious
Now I AM at the 6 epi I can't say what we will get after that how our excitement will change but it's excellent fab , now it's in my positive watch list romcom horror evrything you will get

What's Not to Love About Spooky in Love
I'm writing this mainly for those who are still new to Kdramas and after watching the first 6 episodes. This drama has absolutely the best of all the reasons why I fell in love with Kdramas.1. Kdrama cliches - Yes, there was a time when I thought they were cringy, but now they are endearing. If you think there are "things" you see when watching a series and you say to yourself "you're kidding, right?", then you've experienced the cringe. However, watch enough of these dramas and surprisingly, you will enjoy those parts. For example, the "sudden stumble turned-into a lip-lock" with the two main leads. Episode 6 had one and I loved it! There was a time when I would have said, "oh, brother that's so unrealistic." But now, I laugh, I applaud, I love it. It's just one of the many ways I love Korean entertainment.
2. The acting and the actors!!! This drama has some of my absolute favorites, and they are just wonderful. I have been a fan of Park Eun Bin since The King's Affection and still can't get enough of her work. Likewise, Ong Seong Wu has been a favorite since More Than Friends (one of my top 5 dramas of all time). New to me is Yang Se Jong. The charisma and sex appeal coming off of this actor is blowing my away. He's both goofy and sexy at the same time, which is hard to believably pull off, but he's doing it. I'm really enjoying his main male lead and finding myself looking up to see what other work he has done. Dare I say he's a formidable competitor of another sexy/goofy actor--Rowoon. The scenes with Eun bin's Yeo ri and Se Jong's Gang Uk are a mix of irritation yet sweet, awkward attraction that is funny yet leaves the viewer with wanting more. This is the right mix to connect the characters to the viewer and keep them tuned in. This drama has the great combination of smart writing and great acting.
3. The storyline - full of twists and turns. Yes, it has the usual "chaebol" family theme, but has a twist this time with an heiress instead of heir, that sees ghosts and can pass this along to someone else by just touching them. Heiresses are usually fashion icons, which our main female lead is, but with the addition of wearing gloves all the time. What's up with that, right? Another twist--the two leads are attracted to each other but cannot touch else she passes along the curse of also seeing ghosts, so it leads to all kinds of funny, comical avoidance-type situations. Yes, it's kinda stupid, but when you're used to Kdrama behavior, it's comical. It makes me laugh. And, it shows the sense of humor of the writer. The awkwardness between the male and female leads when they are close to each other isn't passed off as normal in this drama. Instead, it's part of the plot. Take one beautiful, single, rich heiress and put her together with a sexy but kind and caring male and of course something will ignite...BUT she can't touch him or else he will be cursed along with her. So, you can see where this leads to all sorts of funny and awkward situations. These aren't the usual cliches'.
I love that a historical element has been added to the mix. The story of forbidden love from the Josean Era and our two main leads have to solve the mystery. There is also the typical evil-doing by others to try to thwart our two main leads in getting together. Jo Hye Joo is doing a superb job of playing the jealous, bitch-from-hell stirring up all sorts of trouble.
It's the typical Kdrama rom com with so much more added in. Give it a whirl...I think you will enjoy it.

Entertaining and Cute Couple
So far the first 2 eps were entertaining and sometimes funny. The concept is simple and without the solid acting, I wouldn't be watching it. There were scenarios that were trite. But with good acting, it's funny in a new light.I thought the ML was very capable and has chemistry with the FL.
The format of the story is the two leads help solve the crime committed to the dead people. Within 2 eps, they already solved 2 murder cases.
I think the format will be similar the next episodes. I will watch it.

Hauntingly fun, until episode 5 - a narrative fraud
Let’s call this show, "I See Dead People.” A woman sees recently departed spirits seeking justice. Yes, the premise is essentially The Sixth Sense meets a police procedural. But it's an entertaining concept, and after two episodes, this K-drama already looks like a winner.The cast is exceptionally charismatic, and the central storyline is easy to embrace: a psychic and a detective join forces to solve murders while a number of intriguing subplots begin to unfold.
Of course, part of the fun of watching K-dramas is spotting the plot holes. And this series appears determined to provide plenty of them.
Spoiler Alert: Stop reading if you haven't watched Episode Two.
The show's first major case involves a professional golfer accused of murdering his girlfriend. He's acquitted because prosecutors never recover the body.
A flashback reveals what actually happened. Around 6:00 p.m., the couple argues in a hotel room. During the struggle, the woman falls, strikes her head on the wooden bed frame, and dies. Panicking, the golfer flees, leaving blood behind.
Later, he hatches an elaborate plan. After photographing a flight attendant leaving the airport, he offers her a ride. She accepts, and accidentally leaves her wallet in his car.
Disguised as the flight attendant—with her ID, clothing, luggage, and a wig—he checks into the hotel room next door to the victim's. The rooms share a terrace. He crosses the balcony, enters the victim's room, stuffs her body into a suitcase, takes it back to his room, takes the elevator to the roof, climbs a water tower, and dumps the body into the hotel's water supply.
It's certainly creative.
It's also where the story completely falls apart.
The Biggest Plot Holes:
Housekeeping
The body supposedly remained in the room overnight, yet housekeeping never discovered it.
The Balcony
The entire scheme depended on two neighboring rooms connected by unlocked balcony doors. Modern hotels wouldn’t feature this design. And when balconies do exist, they're typically locked or otherwise secured.
The Disguise
The golfer successfully impersonated a female flight attendant despite modern high-definition security cameras, hotel employees, and identity verification.
The Body
This creates several problems all by itself. First, a standard flight attendant carry-on simply isn't large enough to conceal an adult. Second, even if it somehow fit, dragging that much weight through a hotel and then lifting it up a rooftop water tower would require extraordinary strength. Third, hotel rooftops are generally locked, alarmed, and monitored—not casually accessible.
The Investigation
Perhaps the biggest mystery isn't the murder—it's the detectives. Security footage revealed the victim never exited the room. Wouldn't investigators immediately examine every possible exit? A connected balcony and neighboring room would be among the first things they would check.
And that's before considering the forensic evidence. There was blood in the room. And a decomposing body in the hotel's water supply would create obvious contamination issues. The list goes on.
None of these problems ruin the show, however.
In fact, they may become part of its charm.
Sometimes a series succeeds not because every detail survives close scrutiny, but because it's simply fun to watch. This show has a terrific cast, an engaging supernatural premise, and enough personality that viewers may happily forgive its increasingly haunted logic.
If the remaining episodes maintain the same energy, this could still become one of the more entertaining K-dramas of the year—even if the detectives never notice the balcony.
Update 1: Just finished Ep. 4: A shocking twist that just might prove this show is breaking with standard kdrama tropes. Excited to see what comes next.
Update 2: Just watched the beginning of Ep. 5 & turned it off. Here's why. The K-drama formula is practically sacred: no matter how toxic, incompatible, or geographically separated the leads may be, they'll inevitably end up together.
Episode 4 looked like it was daring to break that rule.
After saving the heroine, the male lead is absolutely demolished by a speeding car, launched into the air like a ragdoll, then rushed to the hospital in critical condition. His heart flatlines. Friends break down in tears. The woman, devastated, wanders outside to cry beneath the moonlight...
...when he suddenly appears in front of her.
Completely healed. Perfectly healthy. Dressed in his casual street clothes.
Classic ghost behavior, right?
It was a wonderfully unexpected twist. For a moment, it looked like this series had the courage to do something genuinely original.
Then Episode 5 arrived and screamed, "Psych!"
He's not dead. He's not a ghost. Instead, we're told that during his life-threatening medical emergency, he somehow pressed pause on dying, slipped past the doctors trying to save his life, changed into his street clothes, strolled outside to comfort the woman, then casually returned to the hospital for a few more tests.
...Excuse me?
I expect a healthy helping of absurdity from K-dramas. That's part of the fun. But this isn't a contrivance—it's narrative fraud. The first four episodes built an engaging supernatural mystery, only for the writers to yank the rug out from under the audience with a twist that makes absolutely no sense.
Episode 5 didn't surprise me.
It cheated me.
My rating plummeted from a 10 to a spiteful 2, and I dropped the series on the spot. In a world overflowing with great television, I'd rather spend my time with shows written by people who respect both their own story and the audience's intelligence.

I am loving this show very much.
I love genres like fantasy and horror. This show is great from the start. I like chemistry of the leads also.Give it a whirl.

Perfectly Spooky Romance — Hindi Dubbed Gem of 2026
Spooky in Love is a delightful blend of romance andsupernatural elements that keeps you completely hooked
from the very first episode. The chemistry between the
leads is absolutely electric and the spooky elements
add a fresh and unique twist to the usual romance formula.
The writing is sharp and the pacing is perfect — never
too slow and never too rushed. Each episode ends making
you desperate for the next one which is the sign of
truly great drama writing.
This drama is available in Hindi dubbed format for
Indian and Pakistani audiences and the dubbing quality
is very good. Makes it very accessible for viewers who
prefer watching in Hindi.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves romantic Korean
dramas with a supernatural twist. One of the most
enjoyable watches of 2026 without any doubt.

Crime and Ghosts
This drama gives me the feel of Master's Sun. Both FLs can see ghosts and somehow the ghosts are asking for help, for closure. The difference lies on the MLs.I like that they paired Park Eun Bin and Yang Se Jong. They are both cute and seem have a good rapport with one another. Se Jong seems to be in his element. Him being introverted may be good for the role of a prosecutor. Whereas Eun Bin had already proven in many of her dramas how versatile she is.
As I am halfway through the drama, I may still be making half-baked review. But so far here are what I like about it:
1. The directors chose the right actors for the lead.
2. The pacing of the story is not boring, gives us many plot twists which surprises us in the next episode.
3. The outfits of Cheon Yeo Ri are just lovely. This is just right for her status as an owner of a hotel.
4. The ghosts are not so scary like that in Master's Sun
5. Some of the locations, specially that in Jeju captures a bit of its beauty.
6. Cheon Yeo Ri's grandma not that too strict or controlling.
7. The supporting actors played vital roles to bring flavor in the intrigues, the problem solving and even in romance side.
Let us see when will the two leads' feelings develop. Their engagement maybe superficial but who knows as they get along already, and trust each other, there might be a spark. We don't know if Prosecutor Ma will see ghosts again.
I will return to this review as soon as I finish this drama. And for now, I am excited what would become of the engagement of Prosecutor Ma and Cheon Yeo Ri.

Not as engaging as expected.
I love Park Eun Bin! And I was pleasantly surprised how much of a good, talented actor Yang Se Jong actually is !And coming from a moderate intertest in anything "spooky", not necessarily horror. I thought this show would perfectly fit my taste ! And seeing Park Eun Bin in it would be even better ! But honestly, it's nowhere near as engaging as I expected it would. It was more of a tame romantic drama comedy that happens to have some paranormal elements around it. Nothing really enticing, or suspenseful. Just two people who end up closer together that happen to have a ghost or two around them.
Too bad, could've been even better in my opinion.
