Qiao Wan presses Sheng Ze for the truth about the car accident that happened years ago. Sheng Ze explains that he was unconscious after the accident and knew nothing about it. She swears she will find out the truth, burns the silk scarf, and cuts off all ties with Sheng Ze. This scene is witnessed by Assistant Hua, who has been hiding nearby. He goes back to report to Sheng Huai Jing that Old Madam Qiao has been helping Sheng Ze hide his identity. Sheng Huai Jing swears to take everything from him. Qiao Wan asks Uncle Chang to help find the old housekeeper Uncle Cao from back then. She meets Uncle Cao, who tells her that after the incident back then, Old Madam ordered someone to lock Qiao Wan's mother in a small dark room, and by the time she was released, she had already gone insane.
