Han Su Seol is a wealthy and conservative professor. One day, while driving home, he nearly hits a woman and a young girl. The woman is his pregnant daughter-in-law, Choi Yeong Ae, and the girl is his granddaughter, Han Jun Hui. Choi Yeong Ae had defected from North Korea before meeting and marrying his son, Han Min Gyu, a marriage that led Han Su Seol to disown his son.
