Cho Yeon became a gisaeng against her will and does not wish to live as one; she refuses to give her body to men. Min Jang Hwi, the son of a powerful noble household, desires to possess her despite her resistance. Meanwhile, Ha In Seong, a poor scholar and friend of Jang Hwi, hears about Cho Yeon and meets her out of curiosity. Fate brings them together, and the two fall in love. However, their love is ultimately thwarted by Jang Hwi’s interference. Ten years later, Cho Yeon has had her hair pinned up by Jang Hwi and continues to live the life of a gisaeng she never wanted, remaining by his side.
