Hotel King Episode 14 Reactions
First of all. CJW and AMN as chairwoman and general manager. Wow, raw tension here that should be converted in a lot of sexy times tbh. The detachment JW is serving MN is taking out all of her authority rage of her position, but it's still too immature to be taken seriously. Still, CJW is bitter and harsh like he's never been in the beginning. He didn't like her too much, but he wasn't THAT rude to her when they first met. I don't know what he wants to achieve with his impolite manner. He could simply ignore her or reply with sarcasm, although being "brutal" with words may be good for her so that she will see how cruel reality is in that world. Their other scenes made me sad but hopeful because CJW shows his care in little gestures. It's hard for him too.
The back hug scene was my favorite perhaps, but in that one I thought Mo Ne was acting like a needy child more than a strong woman. A strong woman would probably tell herself: "Ok, fine. You don't want me. You know what? I'm better off without you." Sadly MN is stubborn and doesn't want to lose her love, so she keeps on going after JW, which will only hurt her more in the end. To live life one needs to have their eyes open and guard every corner. She is trying to block all of the things she is against of at the hotel, but the fact that she breaks down in front of her stuff it's not helping to build up her character as a chairwoman. I do hope that after the thing she saw at the end of the episode, she understands that she doesn't let her emotions put her down in front of people who should respect her position. She can't be taken as a joke from her staff too, otherwise nobody but Woo Hyun will remain by her side.
Manager Baek and Roman Lee's relationship is interesting. The fact that she was praying and cried in the church meant that place must mean something to her. If she was married, she might have done the ceremony there... alone with her husband as they do on many kdramas (lol). So probably a secret wedding. When she sees Roman she asks why is he there and he says he remembers that is a tough day for her every year. This reinforces the accident theory (she lost either a son or her husband). Plus, the almost accident scene. Like I said yesterday, she was shocked and she must have been traumatized because she had an accident herself. It's like the images of the accident she might have had, passed in front of her eyes and scared her. I am glad we saw that Manager Baek has also a weak and soft side, considering she seems to be affectionate to her son so much. One thing I noticed during Loman's shower besides the wing tattoo (that is actually two eagles tbh) is that he also has a crucifix tattoo on his chest and a phrase dedicated to God on his left arm... "The kingdom of God is within you" that I googled is a book by Lev Tolstoy about Christ's message to give up violence and revenge, and a line from the Catholic Gospel (Luke 17:21) and is a passage about Temptations and Trespasses that will eventually block the man's way to the light. Could Loman be one of those guys who looked dead at the hospital but "resurrected" few minutes later? Sort of GC's cousin on MG. XD And he should be Catholic/Christian like BMN. A very devoted one perhaps. Could this imply Roman (I would call him with the R since the Catholic Church is ROMAN) will do his plan silently? Or does it mean he will be a sort of saviour of Ah Mo Ne and Cha Jae Wan? Perhaps the "angel" that was in CJW's painting, the one that will lead him to salvation and to take the "Ciel". The tattoo of the two eagles could also mean royalty since the eagle is the king of birds. The eagle also has acute sight and is able to kill the prey without needing too much efforts, and is also a loyal bird to his companion.
I really wish the angst isn't dragged too much. The noble idiocy mood by CJW has to end or else it's gonna be painful to watch.
