Mikoto is a paramedic in his third year at the Sakurazaka Fire Department (Yokohama city). He has the psychic ability to foresee a person's moment of death by touching their hands. Mikoto's biological mother died when he was very young and he lost his father at the age of nine. He has three step-siblings(non-blood related) from his father's remarriage partner. He has special feelings for his step-sister Hanamaki Sara.
