The Noey x Namneung — or *NamneungNoey* — ship is one of the oldest in BNK48, which is why fans say it's been almost 10 years.

Here is the timeline as fans tell it:

*2016-2017: Training days + 1st Generation*

Both were announced as 1st generation members on Feb 12, 2017 — 29 girls total: "Can, Cherprang... Namneung, Noey, Orn..." Noey was put in Team BIII and Namneung also started in Team BIII before moving to Team NV after the 2020 shuffle.

Fans started shipping them early because they were same age (1996/1997), both from outside Bangkok, and always paired in theater MCs and BNK48 vlogs. Comments on recent fan collages still say: "they know each other since 2016 right? super tagal na rin" and "they know each other since training days around 2016"

The classic BNK48 ship culture tropes applied: on-stage fan-service, nicknames, and physical closeness. A 2026 fan-edit compilation specifically highlights this — "holding each other's faces, leaning in for near-kisses, hugging, and smiling at each other" under blue stage lighting in matching white outfits. Another fan breakdown notes Noey's habit of calling Namneung *"Khun Mhee" (Miss Bear)* and Namneung calling her *"P'Noey"* — a moment fans love because "Noey become extremely happy when Namneung calls her 'P'Noey,'... flipping over with joy".

Their animal emojis became part of the lore: 🐻 Bear for Namneung, 🐸 Frog for Noey — fans still tag posts "bear-frog pair (🐻🐸)".

*2017-2022: In BNK48 but never official*

They were never pushed as an official couple by management like some other pairs. Fans described it as "when fans previously shipped the pair as 'NamneungNoey' it felt 'illegal' because it was unofficial". They graduated together in December 2022.

After BNK48:

- Both did solo work: Noey joined UNEQ Entertainment and LYRA/VYRA/QRRA sub-units, Namneung went to INC Entertainment and co-founded the YouTube channel SERTIST.

- They reunited in *The Cheese Sisters (2022)*, where Noey played Mew — first time they acted together post-idol.

*2025-2026: Four Elements — the official ship*

The big turning point fans waited for: both were cast as the main GL couple in *4 Elements: The Fire* — the 4th story of the Four Elements GL universe.

- Noey as *Kaprao Atitaya / Phrao*

- Namneung as *Fai* — fans now call them *FaiPhrao*

The series started filming early 2026 and premiered July 2026 with trailers in June. Promotion leaned hard into their real history: BTS photos of "an intimate embrace on a living-room couch", dramatic clips like Episode 6's "NEXT EPISODE" reconciliation arc.

They also recorded the OST together: *"กลับมาพบกัน (Back Again) - NAMNEUNG, NOEY"* which hit *JOOX TOP GL OST #2 in July 2026*. Fan edits from July-August 2026 now show a selfie "cheek-to-cheek smiling indoors" and "two hands clasped in a car" with iQIYI watermark, captioned that the "bear-frog pair must be publicly dating, super sweet".

That is why fans say North Star / The Fire finally made them "an official ship gaining wider recognition" after years of being unofficial.
