The purple moon transformed back to his weapon when he decided to take bach the power and returned to True God level in eps 41 of ALP. However, his house/manson where he lived in the Demon Realm located in Zi Yue  Mountain. The area was named after Purple Moon. And Jiu Yu where the ancient devils and Ming Kai (actually Xuan Yi in the novel) was sealed was located inside Zi Yue Mountain. The Last Immortal changed "the container of Jiu Yu" into Purple Moon

In term of original work, those 3 novel are somehow connected. However, when adapting on screen, the links were weaken or eased due to copywright. As you can see in The Last Immortal, many characters' names who were also included in ALP were changed. They also simplified some details such as Yuanqi's father. In TLI, it's said that Yuanqi's father had lived in Ziyue (purple moon) but in fact it should be Tianqi who was demon True God.

Do you really think Tian Qi naming his divine weapon “Moon” was just a coincidence? The word “Yue” (Moon) seems to hold far more significance to him than he consciously realizes.

I have been digging a lot in meaning of names for characters in ALP/Shanggu such Bai Jue, Qing Mu, Tianqi etc.
In term of Purple moon I think he used "moon" to imply himself - the object the shone over Demon Realm.
In the novel, Tianqi had purple eyes and hair.  Thus it is reasonable he used Purple as his trademark. His assistant's name is Zi Han. And you can see all of his clothes had purple shade. 

He was the only True God who had demon power/nature. Thus he also looked after the Demon Clan. The demon clan was usually considered as "dark side" , the demon realm was depicted as "dark" too.  Therefore, the moon played as the symbol for the shining object for demon realm.
Additionally, the name of Zhi Yang's weapon is Sun & Moon Spear (日月戟). Don't you think Zhi Yang also had affection to Yuemi subconsciously, do you?
  

I watched the video showing Yue Mi being killed by Wu Huan with arrow, but Wu Huan told the others (Bai Jue, other gods, and other demons) that it was Tian Qi who killed Yue Mi, and when Bai Jue asked Tian Qi, he didn't deny it (probably because of his guilt towards Yue Mi - she block the arrow for him). So is the fact that everyone knows until the end that it was Tian Qi who killed Yue Mi, or is the real fact that was revealed that it was Wu Huan who killed Yue Mi?

then you should watch Ancient Love Poetry. Yue Mi died in  episode 14. Tianqi was “killed” shortly after that by  Bai Jue. However he still spared a  piece of  spiritual consciousness for Tianqi. So that Tianqi could reincarnate.  Deep down  Bai Jue didn’t believe that Tianqi killled Yuemi or wanted to destroy the world just for his ambition 

I did watch the drama, but I’m saying the theirs no indefinite confirmation that Ancient Love Poetry and Moonlight Mystique are related.  So far , people are putting together pieces of information that could or could be irrelevant.

Same writer, the novel is a continuation of ALP doesn't mean anything to you? Obviously they have to change the names because of copyright, but this is based on the same novel series as ALP and TLI.

Moreover, YueMi has another name in ALP: the God of Stars (Xing) and Moon (Yue) or Xing Yue goddess. Because of copyright, in God Realm in MM, Bai Shuo's God form has the name Xing Yue.

In ALP, after Tianqi was killed partly by Bai Jue, he resurrected in demon clan and ruled  demon clan behind the demon king. He took the name Jing Yuan which is used in MM. Tianqi was Demon true god, Thus Jing Yuan was Demon god in MM

In addition, the author used the same universe with God realm in the ancient time and post-ancient time. The three novels which were adapted to ALP, TLI and MM respectively. While TLI kept the timeline more or less similar to the original work, MM changed quite drastically. The story in God Realm which happened 60000 years before the main story between Bai Shuo and Fan Yue has been adjusted to make them as the main and most important gods there instead of Shang Gu as the Chief god and other true gods helping her.  he hierarchy of god structure was also adjusted into only 3 gods. But the author still kept the 60000 year gap between the collapse of God realm and post-ancient time era.  And I have the feeling that the script writer would take some characteristics, profile from Shang Gu to adapt for Xing Yue since originally Yue Mi was just highly-ranked god but lower position than true god.
