Based on the auto-biographical novel "Chronicle of My Mother" by Yasushi Inoue (published 1977). "Chronicles Of My Mother" recounts the relationship of an author (Yakusho Koji) and his elderly parents. The author has a strained relationship with his father and his mother's (Kiki Kirin) memory grows weaker by the day. A reconciliation is attempted by the son. Edit Translation
