  • Inspector Koo

    1. Inspector Koo

    Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes

    7.0

I had so much fun watching this. It had a great set of characters. And even when the writing got a bit wonky in the last third, their interactions were a treat to watch.

  • The Peak

    2. The Peak

    Korean Drama - 2011, 2 episodes

    8.0

Short but impactful. Despite its length, the show had quite a few memorable lines. Hwang Jin Young really is shaping up to be my favorite sageuk writer.

  • The Veil

    3. The Veil

    Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes

    7.5

I watched this because Kim Sung Yong PD is said to be working on Hwang Jin Young's next sageuk. I ended up liking it a fair amount. The plot was pretty convoluted and I didn't find it to be particularly memorable. But Namgoong Min's performance was, as usual, great. And the action scenes were definitely some of the best I've seen in k-dramaland.

  • The Red Sleeve

    4. The Red Sleeve

    Korean Drama - 2021, 17 episodes

    6.5

I loved the acting and the directing. The writing, though, left much to be desired. That being said, it was still one of the better sageuks we've got in the last few years. Hurray for non youth-oriented historical dramas.

  • Moebius: The Veil

    5. Moebius: The Veil

    Korean Drama - 2021, 2 episodes

    8.0

I think I liked this prequel more than the original drama itself. Less time to dwell on the NIS' internal politics and more spy work. Really liked it!

    6. Drama Festival 2013: Rebellious

  • Drama Festival 2013: Lee Sang That Lee Sang

  • Our Beloved Summer

    8. Our Beloved Summer

    Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes

    6.0

It was not terrible, but I also didn't like it as much as I thought I would.  It overall felt pretty lackluster and didn't  get me emotionally-invested. The main characters started out fine, but somehow the more was revealed about their couple the less I understood why they had to get back together. It's one of those shows that would have benefited from not following the usual kdrama formula.

    9. Drama Festival 2014: The Diary of a Resentful Woman

  • All of Us Are Dead

    11. All of Us Are Dead

    Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

    6.0

I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more if the characters were defined by more than their teenage crush. If we got to know about their dreams, their aspirations, their passions... There also was no need to give us so many different POVs. I see what the show was trying to do, but it did a pretty poor job at making you actually care about all the characters that were introduced. The death scenes also progressively got less and less emotional. There were too many for me to actually care. And I also think that CS's sacrifice would have been way more emotional if he hadn't been bitten right before.

  • Here's My Plan

    16. Here's My Plan

    Korean Drama - 2021, 4 episodes

    7.0

I liked this! It was entertaining and had a pretty memorable set of characters for such a short drama. It was a bold move from the screenwriter to have the FL actually execute her plan (even if she backtracked later). And I applaud that. The way the rest of the characters reacted to it felt pretty weird though, and 'drama-like'. The show thus felt a lot less grounded in reality following episode 3. I still think it's worth the watch and would recommend it, though.

  • Sell Your Haunted House

    17. Sell Your Haunted House

    Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes

    6.0

Way too long for the story it had to tell. The second half was a struggle to get through. The show was pretty fun to watch until about episode 9, though.

  • My Name

    18. My Name

    Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes

    6.0

This was an okay watch. Entertaining but not particularly memorable. The 'twist' was easily predictable and the characters could have been more fleshed out.

  • Through the Darkness

    19. Through the Darkness

    Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

    9.0

Such a great show.  Slow-paced, but engrossing and well-written. Despite being about profiling and deciphering the minds of criminals, it never forgot to pay respect to the victims and their bereaved families. I truly appreciate how the drama never lost focus of its message and how steady it was in its characterization. Plus, Ha Young was such a great protagonist! He's got my whole heart.

  • Juvenile Justice

    20. Juvenile Justice

    Korean Drama - 2022, 10 episodes

    6.0

This could have been so much better. None of the cases left a huge impression on me and I was left confused by the message the show was trying to convey.

  • Reset

    21. Reset

    Chinese Drama - 2022, 15 episodes

    8.0

This was a fun watch! The drama didn't add anything new to the time loop formula but it was executed well.  The characters acted logically and realistically. And the resolution of the plot was good enough.

  • Soundtrack #1

    22. Soundtrack #1

    Korean Drama - 2022, 4 episodes

    7.0

A very classic friends-to-lovers romance. It made for a good binge despite not being particularly memorable.

  • The King of Pigs

    23. The King of Pigs

    Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

    8.0

Dark. Bleak. Disturbing. It was a very unique watching experience. Not one I'd want to relive, but one I'm happy I gave a chance to.

  • Little Women

    24. Little Women

    Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

    7.5

This deserved a good rating just for the fact that it's the first drama I've finished since May.  While I feel like half of what the show was trying to tell went over my head, I still was highly entertained and didn't feel like I was wasting my time watching it.

  • One Dollar Lawyer

    25. One Dollar Lawyer

    Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

    6.0

It was fun, which is all I wanted from it.  The show was kind of a mess pacing and storytelling-wise in its last stretch, though. It truly suffered from whatever went on behind the scenes.

  • First Love: Hatsukoi

    26. First Love: Hatsukoi

    Japanese Drama - 2022, 9 episodes

    7.5

A very old-school, classic, j-drama romance.  There was nothing surprising about it and it pretty much gave me exactly what I expected from it. I had a good time watching it on a rainy day.

  • Fanletter, Please

    27. Fanletter, Please

    Korean Drama - 2022, 4 episodes

    6.0

A pretty forgettable, but entertaining, watch. There was a surprising amount of unlikeable characters for such a short show. But the main leads made the romance work and were enough motivation to keep me watching.
