Jap films that were a bit eh

Just really boring - not much chemistry between the leads, plot is too slice of life for me (like nothing much happened)

SAD bcus I was really hoping to enjoy this movie. It has such good reviews.

In terms of themes, this movie is very poignant and deep - the message of them choosing to love despite the pain rather than not loving at all is heartbreaking - 

unfortunately, i found the chemistry between the 2 leads to be lacking - the cute romantic fluffy scenes I didn't swoon over, i didn't feel sad watching them realise their fate

it is such a pity

the best part of this movie would probably be the last 20 mins - where the movie explores the events from the girl's perspectives (and explains why she keeps tearing up at 'random' moments - it is truly tragic from her end) which was very interesting

the ending is open but very likely tragic / the ml saves the 5 year old fl - thus ending the cycle on his end / the fl once again meets the ml on the train - and the cycle begins

thematically heartbreaking but it just didn't cut it for me

ending ost is nice
