Realistic or Based on a true Story

I loved the realistic characters, dialogue, and story.  Beautifully written, nicely paced, wonderful music.  It's like a slow stroll through the memories of our youth and struggles.

Same writer as Our Beloved Summer with the same male lead Choi Woo Shik.  While not as good as the former, this still resonated with me.  I loved the layered characters and the realistic emotions conveyed.

A drama that every generation can watch.  The show doesn't shy away from exposing the ugly truths of human nature, but it also shows the touching side as well.   Great acting from the cast

Heartbreaking movie based on the true story of the Cho Doo -soon case in which a middle aged man raped, beat, and sodomized an 8 year old girl in South Korea.  This will make you UGLY CRY and scream in fury at the perpetrator and the judicial system.

Relatable story about a smart & introspective FL and her longtime crush.  The characters all felt like people I know.  The story was more realistic without any ridiculous obstacles.

Based loosely on the real-life story of a German journalist and a taxi driver from Seoul who unintentionally becomes involved in the events of the Gwangju Uprising.  It's a good look at the political turmoil and traumatic events that happened.

This drama got a lot of hate, but I liked that this was a more realistic view on dating in your 20s.  Flawed characters with emotional intimacy problems and casual hookups

Based on real events of two Korean embassies working together to urgently escape during a civil war in Somalia

A beautifully written generational drama set in Jeju that shows the ups and downs of life.  Relatable and reflective, this will make you cry and evaluate your own relationships and feelings with your parents or children.  IU shined in this drama
