Beginner Friendly (Non-Modern) C-Dramas

C-dramas can be a little exposition heavy and hard to follow for my non c-drama savvy friends. These are c-dramas (or movies) which I believe I could show them to introduce the tropes.

All c-dramas on this list have to meet these criteria:

1. Start with a very small cast of characters and then builds

2. Do not start with either an exposition dump or 50 minutes of The Trauma

3. Have world building which doesn't require a familiarity with c-drama tropes (most deity c-dramas and transmigration c-dramas are eliminated here)

I have not ranked these dramas on their quality or whether they'd actually interest everyone - both those things are rather subjective and I'm not god. Just on whether I think they could be palatable.

I do also think a solid amount of these c-dramas wouldn't be good for all beginners, it'll depend on your watching habits. Pursuit of Jade, for instance, will be very palatable to people who watch and read a lot of romance, whereas Overdo would be more palatable to people who like a good 1950s Bond movie. So I've noted my opinion on that.
