  • Ultraman Blazar

    1. Ultraman Blazar

    Japanese Drama - 2023, 25 episodes

    8.0

The 3rd Ultraman show I watched. I liked it quite a bit, more than Z and Tiga in fact. I found interesting how it had a different host (the serious captain of his team instead of just a member), and a different, more wild, Ultraman. And the individual plots and action of the episodes were also pretty good. Kind of a pity the ending was a tad rushed though.

  • Ultraman Tiga

    2. Ultraman Tiga

    Japanese Drama - 1996, 52 episodes

    7.5

The 2nd Ultraman show I watched. It has less of a hype factor than Z, but more thought-provoking stories in exchange. I also like how it has a proper task force, and the number of episodes give enough time to become fond of everyone. It also addresses how the constant monster attacks are perceived by the general public more than Z, which is nice. And I also liked the 2 Akio Jissoji episodes. It is however really episodic (in fact the "main plot" doesn't kick in until 2 episodes before the last) so it gets tiring to watch for an extended period of time.

  • Ultraman Z

    3. Ultraman Z

    Japanese Drama - 2020, 25 episodes

    7.5

The first Ultraman show I watched. This is the most tokusatsu out of the big 3 (KR, Super Sentai, Ultraman), as it actually uses practical effects, like miniatures and stuff - and indeed, I liked the miniature work here quite a bit. There are a lot of references to past stuff, but thankfully most don't require having watched them; the only one that felt like I had to watch previous installments is that turns out a member of the regular cast is a reoccuring character from a past recent series (which didn't need to be the case imo, and feels like they did it solely for the sake of referencing this past character), so that was kinda ehh. In a few episodes, there are also mystery-solving elements, which I liked.

  • Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey

    4. Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey

    Japanese Movie - 2000

This was a nice way to pass the time I guess. I'm not sure about the score I'd give, maybe 6.5 or 7 (not sure).
