  • Sugar Sugar Honey

    1. Sugar Sugar Honey

    Japanese Drama - 2024, 8 episodes

    6.0

The plot is mediocre. There is some cringe dialogue in the beginning. Thank god it doesn't last long. I'm not sure if you can call FL weak. She is dull in the beginning, but there is some growth on her side. What annoyed me was ML's wrist grabbing (when they were barely acquainted) and some mind manipulation (wtf). The acting was a little subpar overall. However, the desserts were a 8 or 9/10 and that's mainly what I was here for.

  • Jjajangmyeon Rhapsody

    2. Jjajangmyeon Rhapsody

    Korean TV Show - 2024, 2 episodes

    8.0

A mouth watering docuseries with A+ food porn. The way these jjajangmyeon enthusiasts passionately talk about the dish is so imaginatively creative and accurate. I was salivating. The history of the dish is also really interesting. How it came over from China, evolved to suit Korean tastes, spread throughout the country, and became super popularized. It was also nice to see how each region has their own unique version of it to cater to even more local tastes. The second episode was about jjampong, but it was not as exciting as the first dish. Maybe it's just me and my lack of interest in seafood. Overall, it's one of the more exciting food documentaries I've seen. xD

  • Be Careful Delicacy

    3. Be Careful Delicacy

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 12 episodes

    6.5

Similar concept as Meet Yourself, but nowhere near the same level of production. I love that ML is a clown. The show starts off mediocre and chaotic, but gets more interesting as ML and FL fall for each other. At that point, the drama becomes more relaxing. The food recipes are simple, but the food looked great. The animation is super cute. Ginger and Garlic are regular adorable characters. The recipes at the end are very easy to follow and are great for beginners. Thanks for the foodspiration.

  • Fermat no Ryori

    4. Fermat no Ryori

    Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes

    6.0

This drama was over the top dramatic. I thought these anime style dramas with over the top acting died out in the 2010's, but here we are. Luckily, the intensity of everything decreased in the second half and it became more enjoyable. The teamwork and comradery the kitchen staff develops over time is heartwarming. The head chef basically recruits and Avengers level team. I'll be honest, this chef gave me creepy and greasy vibes in the beginning. He is most definitely sus. Is it just me or was anyone else getting homoerotic vibes between him and ML? Anyway, I really tried liking this drama for the nerdy math stuff, but it failed me. On a more positive note, the food did not disappoint!

  • Patisserie Mon

    5. Patisserie Mon

    Japanese Drama - 2024, 12 episodes

    7.5

I loved this drama. Not only did the desserts look absolutely scrumptious, they were very aesthetic too. FL is super adorable. The bakery staff is sweet. Everyone works so well together. It was all so sweet and simple. I would say this was a stress free watch. However, toward the end there is a new character that ads some negativity. Luckily, it's short lived and the drama goes back to being sweet again. Plot is a 7, but +0.5 for the wholesome sweetness. The desserts were mouth watering and on point.

  • Nagatan to Aoto: Ichika no Ryourijou

    6. Nagatan to Aoto: Ichika no Ryourijou

    Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes

    8.0

I love this drama so much for multiple reasons. First, it's actually very similar to a contract marriage drama, although this is an arranged marriage. I thought the age gap would bother me, but these two are surprisingly well compatible. I adore how respectful they are to each other. The drama is very soothing. I want to give it a +0.5 for just the ending credit scenes and song alone. The food looks delicious. Idk why I was concentrating so hard on how she made the dishes. Ain't no way I'm actually going to get around to making them. XD

The story itself is simple, but it is well executed. It's pretty feminist. Some of the anti female chef comments got a bit annoying though. There was probably one main annoying loose end I could think of, but I understand that this drama covers volume 1 of OG manga series. Overall, I'd highly recommend it...not so much for the romance, but everything else. I made the mistake of starting this late at night and was HOOKED. I ended up bingeing the entire thing.

  • Kashimashi Meshi

    7. Kashimashi Meshi

    Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes

    5.0

The food was decent, but I had zero interest in these characters and their love lives or whatever dilemma they were facing. They discussed things a lot, but again I didn't find any of it interesting. It's better off being a drama you have on in the background. It wasn't worth the watch for just the food alone.

  • Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna Season 2

    8. Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna Season 2

    Japanese Drama - 2024, 20 episodes

    7.0

Normally I don't like slow-pace, but this was such a relaxing and stress free drama. It's perfect for bedtime for when you need to unwind. Also, the food appreciation was my favorite part. It's like watching a loved one cook in the kitchen (without chaos). p.s. This couple discusses things a lot. :)

  • Sweet Trap

    9. Sweet Trap

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes

    6.5

It had a rough start. There was poor writing and noticeable weak direction in the beginning, making it seem like a super low budget webdrama. The quality got better in the second half, but that does not excuse the weak writing with poorly written antagonists. On the contrary, it had some cute and funny moments. The lead actress is naturally adorable. The food looked great. The drama included a lot of nice scenic locations. FL's dad, who had dementia, is depicted as likable and non exhausting to be around. Overall, it's mid, but it's a nice mindless watch if that's what you're looking. The food did not disappoint.

  • Cooking Crush

    10. Cooking Crush

    Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes

    6.0

It started off cute, but the writing is pretty weak. Off is adorable in this unlike his usual loud and comic relief roles. Pros include decent food and non toxic drama involving characters cheating on each other. ML and his goofball friends are a cute trio. Cons are mainly that it just gets boring. The competition part of the drama gets pretty annoying. I started fastforwarding when the couple gets clingy and whiney. The drama as a whole could've benefited from being a lot shorter. 4 episodes was enough.

  • Fry Me to the Moon

    11. Fry Me to the Moon

    Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes

    8.0

This drama is like a hidden gem or diamond in the rough. I was not expecting the quality to be so good based on the English title and the average looking poster. The food cinematography was great. Although there is some romance, the drama's primary focus is on the food and business part of the drama. The story is simple, but I like how these characters were written. No one is perfect. Everyone has flaws. Even the most unlikable characters have some likable aspect to them. ML reminds me of that one nice/respectable guy who's in a friend group with a bunch of women. XD Actually, I like how most of the men were written in this drama. I also really liked everyone's character growth by the end.

  • Chubo no Alice

    12. Chubo no Alice

    Japanese Drama - 2024, 10 episodes

Too much of  a pain to get subs.
