Finally I can squee!
95% of the romance I watch leave me cold. Yet I consider myself a fan of the genre. When its good , watching two people fall in love brings out the hopeful parts of myself.

Why it worked for me:
- Plot allowed the FL to have trauma that wasn't belittled or alleviated by the appearance of love
- The interaction between the leads had a friendly, bantering quality.
- FL was allowed to have hormones
- While the ML had his swoony moments, he was believably flawed and immature at moments
