Chinese Dramas Worth Watching

I'm a big fan of Chinese dramas. But most of them are disappointing due to bad plot, bad ending (ohhhhhh. how many good dramas ruined by this) , bad editing (like seriously. They cut on the important scenes that could help you understand better) or even bad acting. Plus, the dubbing does not help at all. So I have compiled a list of Chinese dramas that I've considered worth watching.

Hurm.... I would say the editing and plot development are not the very best here. But still, this drama plays a crucial role into making Chinese dramas known. If you are new to Chinese drama and want to have a dip, this is a suitable drama for you. Just.. don't have a very high expectation.

  • Eternal Love

    3. Eternal Love

    Chinese Drama - 2017, 58 episodes

    6.0

I actually have a mixed feeling bout this drama. The rave reviews given were warranted. But maybe because I was not a big fan to the storyline and how the story progressed, I was not over the moon when I watch it.  That being said, I think this drama have all the right elements of a good drama. Good acting, good plot, good actors and the visual effects was executed well.

  • General and I

A feel good drama with childish characters. Young viewers would love this. I don't relate much with the conflicts in this drama, but still a worthy drama if you are bored and want to watch something light and cheerful.

  • Lady & Liar

    6. Lady & Liar

    Chinese Drama - 2015, 46 episodes

Tiffany Tang and Hawick Lau will not disappoint you here. The plot was marvellous. The costumes were also beautiful.

  • Le Coup de Foudre

    7. Le Coup de Foudre

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 35 episodes

    8.0

This drama surprised me. I didnt expect to love it. Thought it was like aby high school romance there are out there. Boy, I was wrong. The FL was not annoying and clingy. The ML was not that egoistic and cold to the point you just wanna kick some sense in him. And the humours were in places that I didn't expect. It has the vibe of It Started With a Kiss.

  • Legend of Fu Yao

    8. Legend of Fu Yao

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 66 episodes

    6.0

I like the plot altho it's a bit draggy. The FL and ML was good in this drama. the last 10 episodes was a bit confusing for me but not to the point you can't understand the stroryline at all.

  • Lost Love in Times

    9. Lost Love in Times

    Chinese Drama - 2017, 56 episodes

    9.0

I looooove it! The costumes are just... wow! and William Chan and Cecillia Liu does make a beautiful couple.  I've rewatched this drama dozens of time.

  • Love Me If You Dare

    10. Love Me If You Dare

    Chinese Drama - 2015, 24 episodes

    8.0

Walace Huo. What more do I need to say?

Plus, the storyline is good, considering there're not many chinese crime dramas they are out there.

  • Love O2O

    11. Love O2O

    Chinese Drama - 2016, 30 episodes

    9.0

I like the characters here. It all went just right for me. The plot, the characters, the romance. Altho it's a bit draggy (but which chinese dramas that aren't?), the drama is absolutely swoon worthy,

  • My Sunshine

    12. My Sunshine

    Chinese Drama - 2015, 32 episodes

    8.0

Slow paced drama but I like it. A couple who cannot forget their teenage love and decided to get married despite having unresolved issue. When you have Wallce Chung and Tiffany Tang in the same drama, what can go wrong?

  • Prince of Lan Ling

    13. Prince of Lan Ling

    Chinese Drama - 2013, 46 episodes

    9.0

I'm a fan of Ariel Lin and I think this story is one of her best after It started With a Kiss and  In Time With You. The editing was good. No plotholes. The humour also was great. The the ending was a masterpice. And the villain deserve an round of applause as she successfully depicted her character as one jealousy revengeful bi**h.

  • The Legend of Dugu

    14. The Legend of Dugu

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 55 episodes

    9.0

Epic! From the costume, characters, plot and even editing. The drama is heavy with the conflicts but it is understandable as this is a historical drama. Light historical drama usually are aimed for young viewers, filled with very shallow plot and weak characters. This drama is just powerful. For the first time ever, I was rooting for the antagonist ML instead of the protagonist ML. Jeremy Tsui played the character very well here. He won a lot of awards due to his superb acting.

Just fyi, there's another drama called Queen Dugu. I dropped it after few episodes. Can't even be compared with this masterpiece.

  • The Mystic Nine

    15. The Mystic Nine

    Chinese Drama - 2016, 48 episodes

    8.0

I watched this purely because of the romance at first. The FL and ML's romance was just fun to watch. Their scenes were limited but still entertaining. Plus, the FL is not the timid and shy kinda character. She's independent, strong and witty. The plot has some loopholes maybe due to not so good editing. But still entertaining nevertheless.

  • The Princess Wei Young

    16. The Princess Wei Young

    Chinese Drama - 2016, 54 episodes

    8.5

Based on this list, you can guess how a big fan I am of Tiffany Tang. One of reason is because I find that she is a wonderful actress who acts well and know which drama to choose, instead of just act in whatever drama she can get hold to. This drama has a great storyline. I didn't have a moment of confusion due to good editing. And I looove the ML, which happens to be her husband!

  • Unrequited Love

    17. Unrequited Love

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 24 episodes

    8.0

Not a big fan of a high school love kinda drama because they are always childish but this drama is an exception. You just just feel at the FL's once sided love towards the ML. Plus the editing is beautiful and the storyline flows beautifully. Maybe because this drama was under Netflix and therefore they raised the bar when creating this drama.
