  • The Long Ballad

    1. The Long Ballad

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 49 episodes

    10

This is my favorite drama to date. I loved the fighting scenes, the relationship building, the adventure,  the acting and the OST. This drama was so interesting from beginning to end that I didn't mind too much the lack of romance.

That being said, I do wish there was more romance for the main couple. I also wasn’t a fan of the comic/manhua like scenes and would’ve preferred realism all throughout.

But despite these qualms, It’s hard for me to find a drama that I loved this much from beginning to end.

  • Love Like the Galaxy: Part 2

    2. Love Like the Galaxy: Part 2

    Chinese Drama - 2022, 29 episodes

    10

I didn’t think I could find another historical that I enjoyed as much as I enjoyed TLB but here we are!

My overall thoughts on this entire show (part 1 + part 2) is that it’s an unexpected delight. I loved the acting, I was inspired by the characters, I fell in love with the characters growth and I loved the main lead’s romance. It felt like this drama was so professionally and carefully thought about and there was so much done right in this drama that it’s easily become a favorite of mine.

Amazing casting !! This made me a permanent fan of Ji Chang Wok. I loved the perfect blend of comedy, action and romance.

  • Kill Me, Heal Me

    4. Kill Me, Heal Me

    Korean Drama - 2015, 20 episodes

Amazing casting + blend of comedy & romance.

  • It's Okay to Not Be Okay

    5. It's Okay to Not Be Okay

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    9.0

It's hard to explain my interest in this drama as the characters were pretty complex in nature. I loved the character progression and the gradual path to romance that this drama brought. I laughed, I cried, I didn't want it  to end.

  • While You Were Sleeping

    6. While You Were Sleeping

    Korean Drama - 2017, 32 episodes

    9.0

Anything  with Lee Jong Suk makes my day. This drama was no exception.

  • Autumn's Concerto

    7. Autumn's Concerto

    Taiwanese Drama - 2009, 21 episodes

    9.0

A heart-wrenching romantic classic. This is a drama that I have upmost respect for in regards to the storytelling. Although it has tropes that I’ve long disliked, I still enjoyed the story and the emotional journey it took me on.

  • The Tale of Nokdu

    8. The Tale of Nokdu

    Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes

    9.0

This drama had some of the BEST sword fighting scenes that I've seen as of yet. Plot was interesting to the very end with a realistic but still satisfying ending for the main couple.

  • Eternal Love

    9. Eternal Love

    Chinese Drama - 2017, 58 episodes

    9.0

Eternal Love was my first Wuxia + Xianxia that made me fall in love with the genre and made me a fan of Yang Mi. This drama has some serious angst and it isn’t the easiest watch. However, I can say I wasn’t expecting the wondrous ride that this drama put me on.

  • Goblin

    10. Goblin

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    9.0

If you were like me in 2016, Goblin had you in the tighest chokehold. This drama was amazing. From the enchanting OST, eye-catching CGI, intricate cinematography and talented acting, there was nothing I loved more than tuning into each episode.

I laughed with the main FL’s character, I smiled whenever i saw the secondary leads Sunny and Reaper and I cried over the romance between Goblin and Go-Eun.

  • Love Between Fairy and Devil

    11. Love Between Fairy and Devil

    Chinese Drama - 2022, 36 episodes

    9.0

I absolutely loved this drama. A forbidden love story between a fairy and a devil but with body switching. I loved Qingcang, his character progression has to be my favorite out of all characters in this story. Orchid was a bit harder to love at times but once she realized her feelings, I was swooning over the leads’ romance together.

The OST is amazing and the acting is even better. There were a few dragged out scenes in the mortal world and rushed episodes towards the end, but I loved this drama all the same.

  • Ancient Detective

    12. Ancient Detective

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    9.0

Loved the intelligence and wit of this drama. It completely kept me on my toes and kept me thinking about what would happen next.  I tend to stay away from detective related dramas as I have found from experience that the buildup to the resolution hadn't been worth the watch, however, the cases were always interesting in AD.

The main characters were great, the bromance in the drama made me overlook the lackluster romance that the show was trying to portray.

Unfortunately the show does suffer from a huge cliffhanger (I desperately need that season 2) and weak romance but overall the story had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
