Completed Dramas | 2022
Comments are spoiler free, but I do comment on my overall feelings about the story and characters.

1. Train
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
I thought the story sounded pretty interesting. It was only 12 episodes, but I did have a little bit of a hard time staying focused while watching. I felt like it could have been a little shorter, but I often feel that while watching k-dramas.

2. Vincenzo
Korean Drama - 2021, 20 episodes
I had a hard time getting into the drama at first, but once I hit the halfway point, I was hooked! I liked the characters, the acting, and the story was pretty interesting. I'm not a huge fan of courtroom shenanigans, so I think that's why I struggled so much in the first half. I really rooted for Vincenzo and thought SJK did a great job portraying his character! Jeon Yeo Been was stunning and I also thought her acting really worked for her character. Overall, I recommend!

3. The Silent Sea
Korean Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
I tried my best to go into this one with low expectations and ended up being pleasantly surprised. I really hope that k-drama directors and screenwriters continue to push for some of these darker sci-fi stories. I thought the suspense was really good in this one and had to watch some of the spookier scenes through my fingers. I do think the characters fell a little flat, but it wasn't too hard for me to get behind wanting them to succeed, for the sake of humanity.

4. Hellbound
Korean Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
I haven't ever seen anything like this before. I really liked how original it was and I'm looking forward to another season!

5. Doctor Prisoner
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
This one didn't really vibe with me. I think it's perfect for someone that likes revenge dramas, but it was hard for me believe that everything that was happening could actually work. It was well acted, for sure! I just don't think it was for me.

6. Wok of Love
Korean Drama - 2018, 38 episodes
I had a lot of fun watching this! I loved the characters and really loved the interactions between the characters. This wasn't a drama that was on my radar but I'm glad I took the time to watch it!

7. Bulgasal: Immortal Souls
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
I enjoyed the fantasy aspect of this. I do think it dragged a little and got a little repetitive, but it was fun seeing Lee Joon in another drama! He did not disappoint!

8. Tomorrow
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
This drama was so sweet! I loved almost everything about it. The topic is pretty heavy, so I think the drama could have afforded a few more humorous moments but otherwise, it was great! Just prepare to be really sad for most of the drama.

9. Secret Love Affair
Korean Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
This drama wasn't my favorite. Yoo Ah In's acting did not disappoint but just about everything else did. I'm not a huge fan of love affairs in the first place but I think if they had done it a little differently, I would have enjoyed the drama a lot more than I did. The drama was pretty boring at times with long uncut scenes and scenes with no dialogue which made it hard to get through.

10. Our Beloved Summer
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
AHHHHHH!!! SO GOOD!! This drama had A+ story telling. I loved the cinematography, the acting, the dialogue, character development, and the OST! The emotions and the romance hit me just right! The drama had me squealing one moment and crying the next. I really loved this one!

11. The Hymn of Death
Korean Drama - 2018, 6 episodes
I wasn't really looking forward to watching this one. I usually go into dramas blind so I didn't know what it was about. The cover and title made it sound super melancholy and possibly boring. I was so wrong about this one! I haven't really liked any of Lee Jong Suk's dramas the past few years but I thought he did a good job. Shin Hye Sun was also very good! I loved the romance and the chemistry between LJS and SHS!

12. The Sound of Magic
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
THIS WAS CRAZY! It's hard to say anything without spoiling something so all I'm going to say is this is a perfect example of a drama that is not what it seems! Really great job overall! I thought it was going to be mediocre at best and was just wanting something to pass the time, but I was hooked!

13. My Liberation Notes
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Such a good drama! I feel like not a whole lot happens, especially in the beginning, but I was super invested! I loved the slow burn romance and the whole family dynamic! It also had really good character development for some of the side characters! Highly recommend!

14. D.P.
Korean Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
I knew going into this drama that it would be a hard watch but I must say that it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. It definitely had hard scenes to watch but I feel like the scenes were usually short. There was a lot of comedy and other shenanigans mixed in, so it was mostly enjoyable despite the overall heavy theme.

15. Secret Garden
Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
Secret Garden has been on my watchlist since I started watching dramas 10 years ago. Part of me wishes I would have watched it closer to when it first aired so I could have enjoyed it more. I'm glad I finally watched it, but there were a lot of things that didn't age well. Lots of forceful physical contact from the ML to the FL, which is hard to get behind. I knew there would be some of that behavior going into it, so I was prepared to be forgiving. A lot of dramas that were released around the same time had similar issues, but it was worse than I was expecting. I also just really felt that it didn't need to be 20 episodes long, a lot of the story seemed to repeat itself which caused the drama to feel stuck. When it finally started to progress, it felt like the writers forced everything back a few steps, which was frustrating.

16. Doom at Your Service
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
First of all, I just want to mention that this cast was chef's kiss! All of the actors did a great job! I love Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young but I really want to give a shoutout to the secondary characters. I felt like without the side stories, this drama would have fallen incredibly flat for me. I loved the main story but I felt like it was uneventful for several episodes. I had some problems with the overall writing, which is why I didn't rate it a little higher. I did have a fun time watching it, even though it was a little too heavy for me at times.

17. Happiness
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
I'm a little shocked at the number of dramas I've watched this year that I've rated a 9 or higher. This one can be added to the list! I assumed it would be like other zombie shows and movies, but I definitely think this one stands out. The acting from the leads to the supporting cast was all really impressive! I thought the pacing of the show was well done and the twists happened at the right places. It was pretty spooky at times, and it had some pretty gross scenes, but they didn't feel overdone for me. The last few episodes of the drama were really good, which I feel like is a rarity with dramas. A lot of them seem to lose their momentum towards the end, but this one didn't!
