Republican era - five dramas to enjoy

An absolutely a must watch drama about the Resistance War against the Japanese, focus on the citizens and soldiers rather than in lone heroes or big generals.

A cinematic experience. Grounded and realistic but also artistic and poetic. Not for the faint of heart, but full of relisient, hope and love for the land they belong to.

A Wuxia-ish Republican-era road trip with bold Tarantino vibes. 

Incredible cast, excellent production and direction.  You´ll hate but also love the incredible bad guys along the journey, and you´ll get attached to the larger than life good guys that help the main lead. 

Excellent drama recreating all that period. Very engaging storytelling, not heavy or boring at all, and excellent to remember all the battles, names and strategies for that period and settings.

Production is outstanding in all aspect, in natural landscapes and with hundreds of extracts, the best I've seen so far in my cdrama watching experience - understandable because of who Xi Zhongxun was, and who is one of his son now.adays. Acting, script, OST, everything is very solid.

The ending OST since EP 13 to sost.the end is also one of the most beautiful and touching them I've encounter on cDramaland (and there's a lot to compite with), including the lyrics.

If you like these kind of historical productions or you're a history buff, it's a must watch without a doubt. What a fantastic journey!

Short drama mix of Agatha Christie with Chinese thriller. First very good production and star-studed cast for this type of format, with social commentary. 

Very fast pace 

Focus on financial aspects of the Revolucionary era and factions . Good depiction of this turbulent chaotic period from a very fresh approach.

Another great villain you'll end up hating and loving at the same time.
