My Favourites

Typically: incredibly fluffy, light hearted and heart warming. Usually rated 9 stars or higher though I have been known to enjoy things even if I can see the problems in it.

Added bonuses: great morals and character development

  • Sassy Go Go

    1. Sassy Go Go

    Korean Drama - 2015, 12 episodes

    10

Incredible amounts of fluff and light-heartedness whilst simultaneously dealing with incredibly difficult topics, such as domestic abuse and corruption of the wealthy. At the time of writing this, I haven't even finished yet (on Episode 8) yet I'm already adding it because I'm certain it will be a new favourite.

    Incredibly underrated.

EDIT: Having now finished it, I can come back and agree with all of this. Sassy Go Go deals with life in a way that doesn't just pretend all we ever face is "easy" problems. They tackle issues such as (TW) suicide and self harm, but in a way that is respectful. Admittedly, it's not as focused as you may think but that's because the show isn't about those issues - it's about finding hope despite those issues.

Despite being surrounded by corruption, people who may not respect you and just, in general, bad problems - there is hope. That's why I love this drama and why I find things, such as the ending, appropriate even if some parts were a little unanswered or too tidy.

Everyone should go watch it!! Whether for the pure fluff or for hope or refreshment, watch it! <3

  • A Korean Odyssey

    2. A Korean Odyssey

    Korean Drama - 2017, 20 episodes

    9.5

Admittedly, I may be a bit biased on this as it was my first drama and the one that got me really interested in them - but I still love it ; ) One of the biggest things I love about A Korean Odyssey is the depth of character development. Taking someone like Son O-Gong, who in the beginning is extremely problematic, and allowing him to grow is immense and great to watch. Granted, there are some times you need to separate reality from drama but it's rare and still enjoyable.

Also - FLUFF! The fluff is everywhere. The relationship between Son O-Gong and Samjang is very sweet and very cute. Most definitely somewhat of a slow burner, in some ways, and it will love to torture you - but it's worth it for how cute it is.
