Editorials Actual Hapkido Used in Fight Scenes
K-drama fight scenes tend to be more interesting due to the increased use of kicks from the Korean martial arts. As a long-time Hapkido practitioner, I am always looking for actual techniques used in fight scenes, or particularly good fight scenes. Most memorable is Lee Joon Ki is "Arang and the Magistrate". He did lots of his own fight scenes. His back kick is not to be trifled with. The large majority of fight scenes in most dramas are not well choreographed, but every once in awhile I can spot bona fide martial arts. Often it is one per drama. Below are some dramas where I've seen better than average fight scenes and/or actual technique.
