This story is actually in the real korean history where the kings mother (deposed queen) gets deposed and killed because of her jealousy towards other concubines and also once scratched the kings (male lead's father) face so the Queen dowager ( grandmother) deposed and ordered to kill her. Actually in the real history the drama king yi heon name is yeonsanggun here they changed the kings name but most of the plot is the history where he believed that he was the son of third queen (the little boy the mother). When yeonsanggun gets to know about his mother death he becomes a tyrant and kills all the court officials concubines and also the grand mother. later he received so much backlash so he also banned hanggul (korean literature) and killed brutally everyone who opposed him . he is known as the most brutal and tyrant king of Joseon.
