I haven't seen the original but I think this is more based in the premise of the 2nd season, because the ML of the first season is a CEO and the ML of the second is a cop. also just a hunch, but I think it mostly just took the concept of the drama more than the plot, but idk for sure

just watched the first ep, it was so interesting and well done! the direction, cinematography, color grading and acting were all rly good

i watched it without subs and i would say the story gets really good from ep 7 on so it's worth waiting! the subber said something about having problems with health and their internet, i hope it gets resolved soon 😕

like it needs a special or something with more closure imo, them having to be on the run for the rest of their lives and never fully reuniting after that day just doesn't sit right with me even if they're all doing good idk 😭

stereotypes about female characters specifically, Toma Saya is a gem

annual reminder that this was written and directed by women and starring a woman, which is probably why it's so good and doesn't lean into stereotypes

movie would have been better if they had showcased the two male leads' relationship more like they did in the last 20-ish mins, but still a slay. kentaro and mayu were the standouts for me here tbh

you literally said you didn't like this story because it is about a single dad... and if you watched the show you would know it is actually mainly about a single mother, and the child is not invisible, the child is a more important part of the story in this drama than any other single parent drama I've seen. idk why you commented that, it sounds like you didn't even watch the whole show
