Ikr! Reminds me how I've been singing praises about Yanzhao's portrayal of Xia Liu Yi that I feel compelled to do one for Changxi's He Chu San as well.
He Chu San is cute and innocent and nervous when the series begins(almost rabbit-like), but then proceeds to get hotter with every episode. He has that cool introverted mysterious charm to him. Xia Liu Yi said it best in an ep; he said Chu San is like a wolf in sheep's clothing. I love how expressive his eyes are, he is able to show so many emotions through his eyes alone
Especiallyyy when He Chu San shows a different sly and cunning side later on, I sat up and I was like, how the heck did his whole vibe change to daddy? In such a believable manner too. No wonder Xia Liu Yi gets so tongue tied and flustered whenever He Chu San looks at him up close and personal, like damnn
Honestly, I’d be over the moon if we actually got a second season. I’m willing to wait as long as it takes,…
Thanks for the info. Fingers crossed they will officially announce s2 through the production company at some point if they plan on one. It gives me hope though that all four actors of the two main couples were signed to the same company simultaneously. It would be such a loss of great chemistry to not utilise them for more seasons if the actors are onboard w it (if I get bold, new shows too lol)

Could you tell me in your opinion why season 2 could happen? Has anyone said anything? I have not looked at the socials of the cast after the show yet. I am looking for clues that anyone in the crew has provided about a second season cuz I am out of the loop
Definitely watch it! When I saw the title of the show for the first time, I thought it was silly. Huh? Children's Day? Sounded kinda juvenile. I gave it a go and it's now one of my all time favorite shows despite being a short drama, BL or no BL. It’s basically about a studious university student who gets dragged into the dangerous world of Hong Kong triads and ends up crossing paths with a ruthless and brutal gang enforcer.
What starts as mistrust turns into this slow-burn romance while they’re surrounded by gang violence and corruption inside Kowloon Walled City (Kowloon Walled City was an densely populated, largely ungoverned enclave in British Hong Kong, known as the world's most densely packed neighborhood before its demolition in 1993–1994.)
You get the feeling that the two leads are really perfect together. One is calm and composed, the other feels like a barely controlled storm, and watching them get drawn into each other's orbit despite their contrast is *chef's kiss*. Oh, and the chemistry is ridiculously good
Anyone reading this, please consider supporting them officially as much as you can. (I would recommend subscribing to their YouTube channel and paying for the access to all episodes). It would definitely help the case for a second season.
sadly it's not on You tube!....guess I'll have to pay a streaming service lol......by the way where can I see…

Y'all, Xia Liu Yi literally says 'wait for me to come back' and 'focus on recovering', so this isn't his first rodeo getting arrested lol. He is a powerful gang boss w connections. It is just that He Chu San is shook from seeing him get arrested for the first time lmao. In the novel from where ep 9 ends, He Chu San rushes to Cui Dong Dong's place first thing and she is like, oh he's arrested? Ah, that's another Tuesday, I'll send a lawyer over for him. Don't worry and go get some sleep.
So in the second season, they are most probably gonna focus on He Chu San trying to clean Xia Liu Yi's hands and pull him out of the swamp, which is what he says in ep 7 after watching Xia Liu Yi drive away from him.
They do change and combine a bunch of stuff from the novel so it is hard to say how they are gonna open up the second season, but obv it won't be a sad ending for our couples.
This is one of the best dramas, not only in BL category. Love the setting, the mood, lights, color palette, camera…
Right? Imo, It is high time that we step away from confining these dramas to the BL category alone and comparing the cinematography only with their other BL drama peers-- they need to be included in the same conversation as the super popular mainstream straight dramas when it comes to comparsions of writng/acting/directing/cinematography etc.
From what I have witnessed, even in my homphobic country, I am finding a lot of people know about BL dramas now compared to back in the 2010s. The BL wave took over from the mid 2010s and then really took the world by storm post 2020 onwards. So many of my friends discovered BL dramas for the first time in the pandemic.
More exposure means more fans. More fans means companies are more likely to invest more money in these shows and actually hire competent people to make it. Better props, a good supporting cast who can actually act, like all the small things that make up a show get elevated if they have enough budget. Like with Sammy's Children's day, the coloring and the mood like you said feels like such a lovely unique flavor.
I kept gasping anytime Xia Liuyi appeared on screen. He is so stunning. Especially this final episode, and especially during the kiss scene, my goodness. The blood smeared on his face and that look of feral want in his eye; wow, absolute homegrown eye candy!!
Cliff hanger aside, Liuyi and Chusan's story was really satisfying. It really is so rare to see such chemistry…
You've said it so well! Their CP dynamic feels so 'real', if that makes sense? Can't quite put a finger on what makes them so addictive and satisfying to watch when they are together. I think it's because their chemistry is so electric despite being two characters who couldn't be more different from each other at first glance.
