First ImpressionSuch a strong and intriguing openingâalready messy, emotional, and full of drama.Episode ThoughtsWe start with RY, a successful writer stuck in a year-long creative slump. Hoping to find inspiration, she returns home and revisits her old school diaries, where she rediscovers memories of her secret crush. This sparks a new storyâbut believing it ended sadly, she rewrites it with a happier twist, imagining that he liked her back.Things quickly spiral when sheâs accused of plagiarism. Her story is almost identical to another one posted online, and no one can understand why. The truth? That âother storyâ is actually her crushâs real feelingsârecorded on an old phone and unknowingly published online by his younger sister. The situation snowballs fast. The sister tries to fix things by claiming she bought the outline, but it only makes things worseâespecially with another author at RYâs agency using the scandal to try and push her out of the industry. Amid online hate and pressure, RY decides to fight back legally. And then comes the twist⊠her mum sets her up on a blind date with a lawyerâwho just so happens to work at her crushâs firm. When she goes to the law firm, she unexpectedly runs into HXS himself. The tension, the timing, the shockâeverything hits perfectly.Character Notes âą RY (FL): Determined and emotionally driven. I like that she keeps a cool head despite everything blowing up around her. âą HXS (ML): Already giving that calm, capable lawyer energy. The fact he has no idea about the situation makes this even more interesting. âą Younger Sister: Her mistake really sets everything in motionâmessy but kind of understandable. âą Agency Rival: Already shady⊠clearly going to be a problem.Final ThoughtsThis is such a solid start for a modern romanceâmixing nostalgia, misunderstandings, and a legal twist. The setup is chaotic in the best way, and Iâm already invested in how everything will unfold.Favourite MomentRY walking into the law firm and unexpectedly coming face-to-face with HXSâTHE tension.Trope Check âą Childhood crush âą Misunderstanding / false accusation âą Hidden feelings revealed âą Coincidental reunion âą Lawyer x writer âą Public scandal âą Workplace rivalry

First ImpressionThis episode was chaotic in the best way â politics, tension, humour, and those quiet emotional moments all mixed together.Episode ThoughtsWe start with the Prime Ministerâs son being punished, which opens up more questions about his true identity and connection to the Prime Minister. The power struggle between the Prime Minister and the Grand Tutor continues, and once again itâs clear the Female Lead is being pulled into their political games. Her entrance back into the capital is iconic â the flower crown, the confidence, and the way she immediately shuts down both sides trying to belittle her. That whole interaction was honestly hilarious, especially seeing the Emperor quietly amused in the background.Despite all the political tension, we get a softer side with the Female Lead and Male Lead. Heâs still moving in the shadows, but their meeting feels honest and grounded. Their conversation about corruption and truth, and his quiet promise to find the truth for her, was such a standout moment. Meanwhile, Mr Jinâs jealousy adds another layer â you can tell he cares in his own way, even if it comes out differently. The Royal Princess continues to be a highlight too â her reaction to the Emperor and the forced marriage situation was chaotic but so entertaining. At the same time, the bigger picture is getting darker. The Emperor feels trapped between the Prime Minister and the Grand Tutor, both trying to manipulate the situation. Everyone is playing their own game, and unfortunately the Female Lead is becoming a key piece on the board.Character Notes âą Female Lead: Still absolutely owning every scene. She refuses to be pushed around and stands her ground even in the capital â love her confidence. âą Male Lead: Quiet but steady. Heâs trying to understand everything and protect her in his own way without forcing anything. âą Prime Minister & Grand Tutor: Both power-hungry, just with different approaches. Neither can be trusted. âą Emperor: Honestly⊠I feel for him. Completely stuck and being pulled in every direction. âą Mr Jin: Jealous but not malicious â his actions feel complicated rather than outright bad.Final ThoughtsThis episode balanced humour, politics, and emotional tension so well. You can feel everything building towards something bigger, and Iâm very ready for the fallout.Favourite MomentThe Female Lead shutting down the Prime Minister and Grand Tutor â iconic behaviour.Trope Check âą Strong female lead âą Political power struggle âą Hidden identities âą Jealous second lead âą âIâll find the truth for youâ âą Royal court drama

First ImpressionThis episode had such a fun mix of humour, reunions, and darker character moments.Episode ThoughtsThe episode starts with the FL and the thug boys successfully completing their mission to stop the scouts. In the process they accidentally set off the flare, which ends up being unintentionally hilarious. Proud of themselves, they loudly declare they are the âNorthwest Pig Butcher Squad!â and return to the Old Man (Grand Tutor) absolutely delighted with their success. Even better, the FL is now openly calling the Old Man Master, which feels like a meaningful step in their relationship. Then we get a series of emotional reunions. The FL sees Mr Zhao again and is completely overwhelmed with happiness. Whatâs even funnier is how childish the Grand Tutor becomes watching their interaction. His jealousy leads to a ridiculous situation where both he and Mr Zhao end up in the infirmary. The reunions keep coming when Captain Li arrives. Heâs clearly thrilled to find the FL and itâs becoming increasingly obvious that he has a huge crush on her. And heâs not the only one paying attention â Mr Jin (one of the thug boys) seems a little jealous and suspicious of Captain Liâs intentions.Meanwhile, the strategic situation worsens as the ML appears trapped on the mountain with no food, making the opposing side extremely smug. Someone needs to deliver food and medicine to him. The FL immediately volunteers, but Mr Zhao refuses, pointing out that she is no longer the same Butcher Girl she once was. Around the same time she finally learns that her little sister is safe, which may also be why she is willing to risk herself in such a dangerous situation. Her natural instinct to help others really shines here.On the darker side of the episode, we dive deeper into Qin Minâs backstory. The drama attempts to explain how he became the person he is, but even with the trauma he has experienced, he still comes across as completely irredeemable. Although he rescued Manager Yu from the flood, the situation only existed because he had chained her up in the first place. He consistently refuses to take responsibility for his actions. Before dying, the nanny remarks that Qin Min is behaving foolishly because of love for a woman. But honestly, what he feels toward Manager Yu doesnât look like love â it feels like obsession. When he learns that Manager Yu wants him dead, it hardly feels surprising considering everything he has done to her and her child.Character NotesFemale Lead:Her compassion continues to define her character. Even after learning her sister is safe, she still volunteers to risk herself for the greater good.Male Lead:Currently stuck in a dangerous situation on the mountain, which raises the stakes for the coming episodes.Grand Tutor:His dynamic with the FL is growing stronger, and his childish jealousy during the reunion scene adds some great humour.Captain Li:Completely smitten with the FL and not even trying to hide it anymore.Qin Min:The episode tries to explain him, but nothing about his behaviour makes him sympathetic. His obsession with Manager Yu is deeply disturbing.Final ThoughtsThis episode balances comedy, character moments, and darker storylines really well. The âNorthwest Pig Butcher Squadâ moment alone made the episode unforgettable.Favourite MomentThe thug boys proudly announcing themselves as the Northwest Pig Butcher Squad after accidentally setting off the flare.Trope Check âą Found family âą Jealous mentor âą Secret crush âą Mission success celebration âą Villain tragic backstory âą Hero volunteering for a dangerous mission

First ImpressionThis episode starts with the ML ready to fight his way through the court for the FL. Thankfully the Headmaster manages to talk some sense into him before he passes out.đȘ·Episode ThoughtsWhile the ML is unconscious, the Headmaster lets his imagination run wild. Based on what heâs heard about the âbutcherâs girl,â he assumes she must be some terrifying woman who bullied the ML into submission.đȘ·So when he finally meets the FL, heâs clearly surprised. Sheâs nothing like the fierce image he imagined. The bigger shock comes when he accidentally discovers that the two of them are actually married. The man the emperor himself couldnât force into marriage⊠is suddenly married. Naturally the Headmaster begins questioning the ML, wondering if heâs fallen for her because heâs definitely not behaving like himself.đȘ·We also get more of the MLâs backstory through battlefield memories. We see the moment a hidden arrow struck him while he was fighting. Itâs hinted that his own uncle â the Prime Minister â may want him dead. The situation appears connected to a mysterious case from sixteen years ago that somehow ties back to the FLâs parents.đȘ·The assassins were sent to kill the FL and were searching for something connected to that past. Because of this danger, the safest choice is for them to go into hiding. The FL wants the ML to come with her, but they had previously agreed that he would leave once he had recovered.đȘ·When the FL hears that a carriage has left and it looks like the ML has gone without saying goodbye, sheâs devastated. Itâs clear sheâs developed real feelings for him. Meanwhile the ML hasnât actually left and is confused by her reaction â heâs completely clueless about why sheâs so upset. In the end, he agrees to go with her for now.đȘ·As the FL plans to close her shop until things are safe again, she unexpectedly receives an offer she canât refuse. Manager Yu from a restaurant wants to see her.đȘ·The surprise? Manager Yu is actually a woman â the same mysterious person we saw earlier in the carriage. She turns out to be sharp, business-savvy, and someone who clearly knows how to handle herself.đȘ·Their interaction is surprisingly sweet. The FL is honest and straightforward, and after learning that Manager Yu was respected by Mr. Li â who had been close to the FLâs father â she offers to share her familyâs secret recipe.đȘ·Some people might think the FL is naive, but the truth is she simply believes in repaying kindness tenfold.đȘ·Character NotesđȘ·Female LeadDirect, sincere, and incredibly loyal. She may seem simple, but she has a strong moral compass and repays kindness generously.đȘ·Male LeadStill slowly falling for the FL, even if he doesnât fully realise it yet. His past continues to reveal dangerous family politics tied to him.đȘ·Headmaster of Luyuan AcademyProvides some comedic relief this episode with his completely incorrect assumptions about the FL.đȘ·Manager YuA fascinating new character. Smart, confident, and likely to become an important ally.đȘ·Final ThoughtsEpisode 8 balances humour, mystery, and character development really well. The hints about the sixteen-year-old case tied to the FLâs parents suggest the larger story is just beginning to unfold.đȘ·Favourite MomentThe Headmaster discovering the ML is married and questioning everything he thought he knew.đȘ·Trope Check âą Hidden identity âą Political conspiracy âą Marriage confusion âą Powerful mentor figure âą Strong female ally introduction âą Past mystery slowly unfolding

Pursuit of Jade Episode 6

First ImpressionJust when it feels like things might calm down, enemies start appearing from every direction. This episode really highlights how difficult life is for the FL simply because of who she is.đȘ·Episode ThoughtsEpisode 6 explores more of the prejudice the FL faces. Because sheâs a butcher, people are either disgusted or afraid of her â and itâs even worse because sheâs a woman. But she didnât choose this life out of cruelty, she chose it because she needed to survive.đȘ·Thereâs a really sweet moment between the leads when the FL worries that the ML might be disgusted by her work. Instead, he tells her he would be ungrateful to think that way, especially considering she took in a cripple when no one else would. Itâs a small but meaningful moment that shows how much he respects her.đȘ·We also see that the ML continues quietly protecting her behind the scenes.đȘ·When the FL returns to her fatherâs butcher shop she finds it completely smashed up. The culprits turn out to be the same thugs who had been causing trouble earlier. Surprisingly they apologise and explain who ordered them to do it. We get a little of their backstory â they arenât inherently bad people, but circumstances forced them down this path.đȘ·Instead of punishing them, the FL gives them honest work. She feeds them and pays them wages, showing that given the chance they might choose a better life.đȘ·The FL then confronts Wang and firmly puts him in his place. Even the ML steps in with a subtle move behind the scenes to make sure sheâs protected.đȘ·But of course the drama isnât over.đȘ·The trial regarding her uncleâs complaint finally begins, and something immediately feels off. They demand she remove her knives, which already feels suspicious. Then her aunt arrives carrying her dead uncle, loudly accusing the FL of being a jinx.đȘ·Itâs clearly a setup.đȘ·My suspicion is firmly on the county magistrateâs daughter â she was already snooping around earlier in her carriage and it feels like sheâs behind this latest scheme.đȘ·Character NotesđȘ·Female LeadStill incredibly strong. Despite the way people judge her for being a butcher, she continues to stand her ground and even offers others a chance at honest work.đȘ·Male LeadQuietly protective. He may not openly interfere yet, but heâs clearly making moves behind the scenes to make sure the FL isnât harmed.đȘ·Village ThugsTheir backstory adds an interesting layer. They arenât purely villains â just people pushed into bad decisions.đȘ·Aunt & Magistrateâs DaughterThe manipulation around the trial feels very calculated, and itâs clear someone powerful is trying to trap the FL.đȘ·Final ThoughtsEpisode 6 raises the stakes with the trial storyline and continues showing how the FL has to fight against prejudice and manipulation. The growing partnership between the leads is also becoming more meaningful.đȘ·Favourite MomentThe ML telling the FL he could never be disgusted by her when she worries about her butcher work.đȘ·Trope Check âą Protective male lead âą Prejudice against strong FL âą Hidden enemies âą False accusation setup âą Quiet ally protecting from the shadows âą Villain scheme

Pursuit of Jade Episode 2

First ImpressionWell well⊠our FL is definitely not someone to mess with. This episode starts revealing that thereâs a lot more to her than just being a butcherâs daughter.đȘ·Episode ThoughtsEpisode 2 begins peeling back more layers about our female lead. From the synopsis I did wonder how a butcher girl could possibly end up on the battlefield later in the story, and now weâre starting to see why.đȘ·It turns out she has martial arts skills taught by her father, which explains her strength and confidence. We also learn that her parents were different from ordinary villagers, suggesting thereâs more to their story that hasnât been revealed yet.đȘ·As if life wasnât already hard enough for her, a gambling uncle suddenly appears with a group of thugs demanding to take her house as repayment for his debts. But the real shock of the scene is that the âlittle butcher girlâ absolutely woops their butts. Itâs incredibly satisfying and shows exactly how capable she really is.đȘ·This moment also highlights who truly cares about the FL and her younger sister â and who absolutely does not. Her ex-fiancĂ© continues to prove himself useless, basically hiding behind his mother and doing nothing to help. Honestly, both he and his mother are quickly climbing my villain list. And letâs not forget the village granny who clearly needs some karma too.đȘ·Because of everything happening around her, the FL starts to believe the only way to protect herself and her sister is by getting married. Everything points toward asking the ML, but her past experience with her ex-fiancĂ© makes her hesitant and unsure.đȘ·In a quiet but meaningful moment, the ML overhears her talking to the pigs about her situation. When he later sees her, he promises that he will marry her. Considering everything sheâs done to protect him, it really does feel like the least he can do.đȘ·Character NotesđȘ·Female LeadEven more impressive in this episode. Strong, skilled in martial arts, fiercely protective of her sister, and clearly someone who refuses to be bullied.đȘ·Male LeadObservant and thoughtful. He doesnât miss much and his decision to promise marriage shows that he recognizes everything sheâs done for him.đȘ·Ex-FiancĂ© & His MotherStill firmly in the âirritating and cowardlyâ category. The ex-fiancĂ© being a complete mummyâs boy makes him even more frustrating.đȘ·Village CharactersSome clearly support the FL, while others (looking at you, village granny) are stirring trouble and deserve a little karma.đȘ·Final ThoughtsA really satisfying second episode that deepens the FLâs character and gives us some great action moments. The promise of marriage between the leads also moves the story forward in an interesting way.đȘ·Favourite MomentThe FL beating up the thugs sent by her gambling uncle. That scene perfectly shows that she is absolutely not someone to underestimate.đȘ·Trope Check âą Hidden martial arts skills âą Strong female lead âą Gambling relative causing trouble âą Trash ex-fiancĂ© âą Marriage of convenience setup âą Protective male lead âą Village gossip

Pursuit of Jade Episode 5

First ImpressionSo the newlywed phase lasts about five minutes before the troublemakers start multiplying again. Married life clearly isnât going to be peaceful for these two.đȘ·Episode ThoughtsNow that the FL and ML are officially married, the village expects them to consummate the marriage â even though itâs really just a contract marriage. To keep the nosy aunt and uncle satisfied, the couple stages a little shadow show outside the room to make it look like theyâre doing exactly that. Itâs a hilarious moment and shows how well theyâre already working together.đȘ·When news spreads through the village that refugees are being rounded up, the FL immediately worries about the ML. She rushes to make sure he has his papers in order, clearly concerned for his safety. Whatâs interesting here is that she isnât thinking about what he can provide for her â sheâs worried about him.đȘ·Meanwhile business is booming for the FL and she finally has enough money to redeem her motherâs hairpin. Unfortunately she discovers itâs already been redeemed. Sheâs upset because itâs the last real memento she has from her mother. This leads to a sweet glimpse into her past with her father and shows just how resilient sheâs always been.đȘ·One thing thatâs becoming clearer this episode is that the ML is slowly falling for her. She isnât after his money, his status, or his title â which she doesnât even know about yet. Instead sheâs worried about him risking himself and is even willing to work harder so he can have an easier life. Considering the kind of power he seems to hold, I imagine most women around him would be interested in what he could give them. Her attitude must feel incredibly refreshing.đȘ·Of course the troublemakers arenât done. The ex-fiancĂ© and his mother return â this time bringing along the county magistrateâs daughter.đȘ·This trio is absolutely shameless. They clearly believe they can still look down on the FL, but the ML isnât having it. He pulls out a scroll listing all the money the FLâs family spent supporting the ex-fiancĂ© over the years, exposing just how much he owes them. Itâs a perfect public humiliation.đȘ·The magistrateâs daughter throws in some nasty words before leaving â which feels like the beginning of a new rivalry.đȘ·Finally we learn who the ML has been secretly sending messages to: the Headmaster of Luyuan Academy of Hejian. We still donât know the full story behind their connection, but itâs clear the ML has powerful allies working behind the scenes.đȘ·Which means the ex-fiancĂ©, his mother, and the magistrateâs daughter might want to be careful about who theyâre provoking.đȘ·Character NotesđȘ·Female LeadStill incredibly resilient. Sheâs hardworking, practical, and fiercely protective of the people around her. She doesnât care about status or wealth â she just wants to survive and protect what she has.đȘ·Male LeadThis episode really shows that heâs slowly falling for the FL. She treats him like a normal person and worries about his safety instead of what he can give her. Considering his hidden status, that must be incredibly rare for him.đȘ·Ex-FiancĂ©, His Mother & Magistrateâs DaughterA new trio of villains. Arrogant, entitled, and clearly underestimating both the FL and ML.đȘ·Final ThoughtsEpisode 5 continues building the conflicts around the couple while also showing the growing bond between them. The ML publicly defending the FL was incredibly satisfying, and the reveal of his connection to the academy suggests much bigger things are coming.đȘ·Favourite MomentThe ML pulling out the scroll listing everything the FLâs family paid for the ex-fiancĂ©âs education. Absolute humiliation.đȘ·Trope Check âą Contract marriage âą Fake consummation misunderstanding âą Trash ex-fiancĂ© âą Rich rival girl âą Protective male lead âą Secret powerful ally âą Villain humiliation

Love between Lines Episode 26
1 people found this review helpful
Episode 26 is where everything cracks open. The FL finally breaks down and apologises to her father â she canât forget the ML, and she canât live without him. Sobbing in her motherâs arms, it feels like this is the first time it truly sinks in for her father just how much pressure heâs been putting on her shoulders to ease his own guilt. The ML, meanwhile, is left completely adrift after his conversation with his mother. Heâs heartbroken and lost, and his only real solace is the snow scene in the game â itâs the one place he still feels close to his father. When the FL finds him there and tells him she canât be without him either, it feels like the emotional reset they both desperately needed. After a night of finally choosing each other, they part ways â she heads back to her parents, and he goes to the company â and then the drama hits hard. The FL is kidnapped and trapped in a burning building. The ML is in a deadlock with the RLâs father, but in the blink of an eye he breaks down the door and rescues the FL. Even while coughing and spluttering, she jokes that itâs just like the game â which is both funny and heartbreakingly on brand for her.Itâs also because of the FL that theyâre able to find the memory card, and suddenly all the cards are in the MLâs hands. And then we get the verbal slap-down weâve been waiting for: the RLâs father cut corners and shifted the blame onto the MLâs father. The shock on the RL and the MLâs motherâs faces says everything â their worlds have just changed forever.Iâll be honest: they both come across a little clueless considering whatâs been happening under their noses. And weirdly, I do feel for the RL. Heâs battered and bruised in a way that screams âhome life,â but no one seems to acknowledge it â and itâs hard not to think his father is the source of that damage too.The truth is finally out, but it doesnât feel like the end â it feels like the moment the real consequences begin.

Love between Lines Episode 22

Episode 22 feels like the honeymoon stage on the surface, but thereâs tension humming underneath everything. After returning from their weekend trip, the ML connects the dots and realises the RLâs father has put someone on the FL â sheâs being followed. The ML talks the FL into staying at his place because heâs worried something will happen to her, and while I understand his instinct to protect, Iâm also a little disappointed that he doesnât just tell her the full truth: this is about her safety. Keeping her in the dark feels like a choice thatâs going to backfire. The ML confronts the RL and makes it clear whatâs happening. The RL promises to protect her⊠but honestly, he canât even protect himself. He confronts his father, gets slapped again, and then the RLâs father drops a line that changes everything: doesnât he know who the FLâs father is? So thereâs clearly a deeper connection between them that we still donât fully understand.Meanwhile, we get the softer side: the FL starts making herself at home, turning the MLâs cold apartment into something warmer and more lived-in. Itâs domestic, gentle, and honestly really sweet. She even finds a photo of the ML and his father, gets him a frame, and tells him that when heâs ready, she wants to hear everything. That moment hit.But the ML is still dragging his feet about his father, and I canât shake the feeling itâs going to blow up in his face later. And then thereâs the MLâs mother⊠who somehow keeps âhelpingâ in ways that make everything worse. Sheâs the one who accidentally put the RLâs father onto the FL in the first place, and now she thinks itâs a great idea to set the ML up on a blind date. Her efforts always seem to come with consequences for either the ML or the RL.This episode is sweet on the surface, but it feels like all the secrets and family connections are quietly lining up for a very messy fallout.

Love between Lines Episode 21

Episode 21 starts with a fun setup after a busy period of collaboration between the club and the coffee shop. The MLâs best friend suggests a weekend away, and the FLâs best friend agrees â on the condition that the FL and ML come too. A party of four. The only problem? No one actually tells the ML. So he turns up to pick up the FL thinking theyâre about to have a romantic weekend away⊠only to discover itâs very much not that. The comedy of that reveal lands perfectly.I also loved the dynamic between the MLâs best friend and the FLâs best friend. They bring out the best in each other, and their banter adds so much warmth to the episode. We also get a nice little clarification that the MLâs best friend isnât actually a playboy, despite all the teasing. On the RL side, heâs wearing his heart on his sleeve when he tries to get closer to the FL. She gently rejects him, and what follows is brutal: he goes home and his father hits him. The RL truly canât catch a break, and for a moment, I really felt for him.Meanwhile, the ML is still digging into the past and finally finds a connection â enough to make him want to gamble and take a risk to get answers faster. Heâs constantly pulled back to memories of his father: the piano gifted to him that he never learned to play, and the accident at the observatory stirring up the night his father died. This episode balances light-hearted group chaos with a heavier undercurrent, reminding us that even when life tries to move forward, the past doesnât always let you.

Can This Love Be Translated? Episode 7
1 people found this review helpful
Episode 7 really highlights how hard it is for the ML to navigate feelings he doesnât know how to explain. He admits to his friend that he doesnât understand the FL â and honestly, it must be confusing for him. She rejected him, he thought the best option was to stay away⊠and then she shows up at his doorstep anyway. Thereâs clearly a misunderstanding between them, and itâs one of those situations where neither of them is saying what they actually mean. Until the FL turns into a tiny thief and steals his record â a song that has a connection between them â and it becomes a lightbulb moment for the ML. Heâs frustrating, yes, but itâs starting to feel less like heâs cold and more like he just genuinely struggles to translate his emotions. That doesnât mean he doesnât have them. Itâs also becoming clear heâs no longer stuck pining for his crush⊠and just when you think their romance might finally start moving forward, the drama hits us with a curveball: the FLâs uncle appears. We get glimpses of her childhood and more context for why she behaves the way she does, and suddenly her reactions make a lot more sense. The ML worries about her and goes looking, only to find her âfineâ at a photoshoot⊠but sheâs not fine. The past trauma resurfaces, she canât cope, and thatâs when her character appears again. Itâs starting to feel like something much deeper is going on â like a split or dissociation â and itâs unsettling. When she turns up at the MLâs home again, he immediately knows something isnât right. And honestly, neither do we.

Love between Lines Episode 20
1 people found this review helpful
Episode 20 is pure âthe secret is not staying secretâ energy. The ML and FL are caught mid-makeout thanks to their best friends walking in, and the teasing begins immediately. The FLâs best friend decides itâs the perfect moment for the FL to move back home⊠and she drags the MLâs best friend out with her. The timing is chaotic, but honestly hilarious.đWe get some genuinely adorable moments after that, including the ML literally falling while carrying the FL to bed. Sheâs clearly awake and waiting for him to make a move, but he stays a gentleman, untangles himself, and wishes her goodnight. The restraint is sweet⊠but also mildly painful when youâre rooting for them.đThey try to keep a low profile at work, but somehow their colleagues start clocking the vibes. They manage to deflect suspicion at first, only for things to spiral into an even more awkward situation later. Low profile? Not on this show.đMeanwhile, the MLâs mother seems to have some kind of epiphany and decides to make him soup, planning to deliver it herself. The RL, sensing an opportunity to see the FL, jumps at the chance to come along. He even prepares a lunch box for the FL, and that single action triggers new misunderstandings with the MLâs mother and puts the FL in an uncomfortable position with the ML.đThe MLâs annoyance doesnât last long though â because, unsurprisingly, theyâre back to making out again. At this point, the cat isnât just out of the bag⊠itâs doing laps. đThe romance is finally open and real between them, but the outside pressure is ramping up â and it feels like the next big challenge will be managing misunderstandings before other people weaponise them.

Love between Lines Episode 18
1 people found this review helpful
Episode 18 is emotionally layered, and it opens with one of the most heartbreaking scenes so far. The best friend meets her husband at their usual place â a spot soaked in memories of how they met and how he used to always show up for her. But the moment she mentions the junior, he lies, and she cuts him off. Because at that point, anything he says will only tarnish the beautiful memories sheâs still clinging to.As painful as it is, she knows she has to cut ties and move forward with divorce. How do you rebuild a marriage when trust is broken? Even if someone argues that âhe didnât technically cheat,â thereâs also the fact that he shut her out of major decisions and kept important things from her, and honestly⊠that tells you everything you need to know.Instead of collapsing, the best friend chooses forward motion. She keeps herself busy, and I loved seeing her suggest a collaboration with the mystery game club â itâs a small sign that sheâs reclaiming her space and rebuilding her world on her own terms. On the FLâs side, we get an unexpected turning point with the Rival Lead (RL). She accidentally sees him at his worst â his father has literally cut open his face â and instead of walking away, she protects him and even comforts him. They both see a new side of each other in that moment, and it honestly feels like this is where the RLâs feelings toward her start to deepen into something more complicated.Meanwhile, the FL is trying to stay out of the MLâs orbit. She canât afford to offend him professionally, but keeping her distance also means she doesnât have to interact unless necessary. Still, the emotions are there, and she vents her frustration the only way she knows how: she returns to the game to get revenge on the MLâs character. It leads to a genuinely funny situation later when the ML is actually playing his character (not the stand-in sheâs been repeatedly âkillingâ), and the tension spills over in the most ridiculous way.The ML remains aloof, but the FL is noticeably more confident now. She doesnât automatically follow his lead or chase his attention, and that shift makes the dynamic feel sharper and more interesting. This episode really highlights the theme of memory versus reality â sometimes the past is beautiful, but that doesnât mean itâs safe to live in.

Can This Love Be Translated? Episode 1
1 people found this review helpful
Episode 1 starts strong with the FL dressed to the nines, climbing those majestic castle stairs to meet a Japanese guy⊠only for the cameras to sweep in and reveal sheâs on a show and heâs her co-star. Plot twist: neither of them speaks the otherâs language, so they need a translator â enter our ML.Weâre at the finale, and the co-star suddenly confesses his love to the FL. The ML goes speechless (same), but after some prompting, he translates it anyway⊠and then we flash back to how the FL and ML first met.Following a breakup, the FL travels all the way to Japan to confront her ex â only to find him with a very pregnant woman. Brutal. The ML becomes her impromptu interpreter, and itâs hilarious and endearing at the same time. It also reveals a lot about the FL: sheâs painfully alone, desperate for love, convinced sheâd found it⊠and then itâs ripped away. Still, sheâs a tough cookie. In a surprisingly cute turn, the two of them end up spending the day together, and the ML starts to open up. We learn he has his own painful love story too â details are still vague, but we do know the woman he likes is on the island, and the FL urges him to go find her.The only hiccup for me was the editing. One minute weâre in emotional rom-com territory, the next the FL is dressed strangely and thereâs a zombie⊠which turns out to be a film set, but the transition is jarring. Then she falls during filming and wakes up six months later from a coma⊠and somehow the whole world loves her now. Whiplash, but okay!Final thought: that photo she took of the MLâs silhouette and posted to her social account? I have a feeling thatâs going to come back and cause him trouble.

Love between Lines Episode 17

Episode 17 hits heavy from the start. After discovering her husband is having an affair, the best friend feels almost frozen in time â like her body is moving but her mind hasnât caught up yet. The MLâs best friend contacts the FL because something feels off, and through the window heâs watching her mechanically grinding coffee before closing the shop early. Itâs clear he harbours feelings for her, and he can sense when something is wrong. And just when it feels like she canât take any more, a pipe bursts and the coffee shop floods. The MLâs best friend comes rushing in, making sure she and the shop are okay. Itâs practical rescue mode, but also emotional rescue in its own way. They end up having a heartfelt conversation about missing the signs, and she draws a painful parallel between the burst pipe and her husbandâs cheating â both are disasters that were quietly building until they finally exploded. The FL has her own tearful moment, witnessed by the ML, where she admits she hurts for her best friend⊠but what scares her most is that her best friend isnât even crying properly. Sheâs not dramatic, sheâs not loud â she just feels empty. Void. And honestly, thatâs sometimes the most heartbreaking stage. After an unsettling night, the FL rushes to a meeting, is one step away from eating the floor, and the Rival Lead (RL) saves her at the last second. That leads to them arriving at the elevator together⊠and the ML goes green with envy all over again. This time he canât hold it in â he openly berates the RL. Their bickering should be funny, but thereâs a sharp edge to it now, like something deeper is brewing under the rivalry. We also see the RLâs father watching the meeting closely through cameras, and itâs impossible not to notice how calculated it feels. Heâs paying too much attention, like heâs tracking every move. Itâs giving âIâm hiding something,â and possibly something deadly â something connected to the MLâs father.Between the hidden surveillance and the resurfacing family tensions, it feels like the past isnât just haunting them â itâs actively watching, waiting for the right moment to strike.
