Cdramas look hyped online, but real viewership has dropped so much in China compare to back then that many projects can’t break even, so funding is shrinking and fewer shows can even start filming. With iQIYI already pushing AI productions, the direction is dim for actors. Established actors may still get more complex projects with Characters that have more depth, but newer ones are getting squeezed out. Honestly from his career perspective, it makes more sense to understand AI usage and figure out what AI can and can't do to not get replaced easily, instead of trying to boycott something already integrated everywhere in China and globally. What’s really needed is proper regulation of AI.

it's only been like almost a year. but he will start looking at scripts again around august since he can do concert once a month and just need 5 days off. he did not limit out costume dramas but he has more options from other genres now
